Trump Admin Strikes BIG Antibody Deal
The Trump administration has struck a deal worth $375 million with Eli Lilly to produce 300,000 doses of an experimental antibody drug.
According to The Hill:
The Trump administration will pay Eli Lilly $375 million to supply 300,000 doses of its experimental antibody drug to treat COVID-19, the Department of Health and Human Services said Wednesday.
AdvertisementIf the Food and Drug Administration authorizes use of the drug, the federal government will allocate the doses to state and territorial health departments which, in turn, will determine which health care facilities receive the drug for use in outpatient care.
Eli Lilly said it anticipates only high-risk patients will be indicated to receive the drug until more studies are completed and more supply is available.
The initial agreement is for delivery over the course of two months following authorization, with the option to purchase up to 650,000 additional doses through the end of June 2021 for up to an additional $812.5 million.
The doses will be available to American’s at no cost, other than the tax burden used to purchase it. However, medical professionals could charge a fee to administer the dose.

$1,250 per dose?? Did I miss a decimal point, or is this an absurd amount per dose? For something that might work? I don’t think so. Who cut this deal, it doesn’t look like something President Trump would agree to. Then the same $1,250 for the next 815.5 million doses? Sounds like an Obama website deal. $6 billion for a website that never worked, paid to Mouchells college roomate working for a Canadian company. This deal stinks like Adam Schit.
