Trump Admin to Tackle New Immigration Reforms

The Trump administration is working to impose new reforms on immigration.

According to The Hill:

The Trump administration is set to publish additional immigration reforms on Tuesday aimed at making it more difficult for skilled foreign workers to acquire visas.

The changes are the latest effort by the Trump administration in recent months to crack down on the use of visas as part of its broader attempt to limit the flow of foreign workers.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is expected to publish regulations targeting H-1B visas that are granted to skilled workers and are common in the tech industry. Recipients can typically stay in the United States for multiple years.

The rules, which will go into effect immediately, would heighten requirements for businesses who hire foreign workers on H-1B visas, according to details reviewed by The Hill. The changes may be challenged in court.

The rule is also going to also require companies to pay H1-B visa holders more in an effort to keep American workers from being undercut.

I would like to see a complete investigation to see how well compliance with federal hiring practices has been followed. I think it is obvious that American workers were purposefully overlooked in the hiring process. The system was rigged so Americans could be laid off or denied work and foreign workers brought in to replace them. I would bet criminal charges could be brought against many HR managers who rigged this activity.

Place an annual fee on each H-1B visa granted to be paid by the hiring company, taking away the economic advantage of outsourcing US jobs to foreigners. That will raise the amount of taxes going to the US Treasury and dampen the desire to hire foreigners over US citizens.

That’s a good way to protect American workers!
