Schumer Rejects GOP Proposal to Trade Bolton for Biden

Senator Chuck Schumer has rejected a GOP offer to exchange the testimony of John Bolton for Hunter Biden.

According to The Hill:

Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) on Tuesday shot down a proposal being floated by moderate Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) to set up a witness trade that would allow both former national security adviser John Bolton and Hunter Biden to testify at the impeachment trial.

“There’s always a diversion. Hunter Biden has nothing to do with the facts of this trial,” Schumer said.

Schumer made clear he has no interest in a one-for-one swap of witness testimony, calling proposals to bring former Vice President Joe Biden or his son to testify before the Senate.

“Requests to call Hunter Biden are an intentional misdirection, a distraction. They’re attempts to use the Senate floor to accomplish what the president of Ukraine couldn’t do,” he said.

Trump ally Senator Lindsay Graham has said that the impeachment trial is not the proper venue to investigate Hunter Biden.

Do the democRATS have veto power over who the republicans want as witnesses in the senate? Seems to me that the senate republican majority doesn’t need to have approval of who they want to call as witnesses.

The democRATS had veto power over who the republicans wanted to call as witnesses in the house hearings. The stupid leftist libTURD democRAT COMMIES want to have it THEIR way in the senate as they did in the house.

Sorry (NOT) lefties, it doesn’t work that way.

I am sorry ,Mr. Schumer, but Hunter Biden is as much about this impeachment as President Trump on his corruption in Ukraine.

Look demand both Bidens and the whistle blower, plus those hiding in the background, like obama, soros, clinton, and bloomberg themselves to testify, because they are the corrupt criminals that caused this, then the democratics must pay every cent that has been waisted. That is the Taxpayers Money not theirs, then stop this mess set our President Free, then prosecute those that have broke the law and defamation of our President and us for backing the best America has ever had. Jail for all time they pay for the CRIMES

Excuse me? I thought all things in this trial were being run on a “majority rules” basis. Take the vote Turtle! Show us who the rinos are each and every time we need Republican’s to vote for our President! TAKE THE VOTE NOW! Or are you going to let the House run this trial as well? I think we have our answer. Cryin Chuck doesn’t get to dictate here!

I consider it an OBLIGATION on President Trump to ask for an investigation into the corrupt dealings in all countries on behalf of all the citizens and our tax dollars. He SHOULD ask for an investigation into Burisma and the Bidens, this is not him trying to affect an election when it is his responsibility and duty to me and all of you. Joe Biden put HIMSELF into this position and has nobody else to blame. There has proven to be no QPQ but even if there was, it was entirely justified, and the Dems position that there was, makes Hunter Bidens testimony paramount since even the “appearance” of corruption is justification for asking for an investigation.

Schumer knows that Bolton’s testimony would be of questionable value and they would have to do lots of “Imagineering” to get any traction out of it. But Hunter Biden in the witness chair would be like striking a match in a gunpowder locker.
