The Navy SEAL who famously killed Osama Bin Laden is backing Trump’s decision to restore the rank of embattled SEAL Eddie Gallagher.

The Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden supports President Trump’s decision to restore the rank of Eddie Gallagher, a fellow SEAL who was demoted after posing with the corpse of an Iraqi civilian.
AdvertisementRobert O’Neill, the SEAL credited with shooting bin Laden during the 2011 raid on his Abbottabad, Pakistan, compound also slapped “whiny” Pentagon officials who are criticizing Trump for stepping into the matter involving Gallagher.
“Everyone knows Gallagher will always be a SEAL … they’ll never be able to take that away from him,” O’Neill told The Washington Examiner. “It’s a special designation. SEALs go through the hardest training in the world … basically beating you up. It turns you into a special warrior.”
O’Neill also ripped the Navy for its “ridiculous” rules of engagement. “I’ve been saying it for a while now,” he said. “These current rules of engagement are going to get somebody killed.”
Gallagher was convicted of posing with a corpse but was quickly pardoned by President Trump. Gallagher received two Bronze Stars with the V designation for valor while serving.

O’Neill is a true American hero. The Obama administration tried with all their might to disrespect O’Neill’s service. What I remember is how the corrupt and disgraceful Democrats thought it was no big deal when an entire seal team was killed in a helicopter ? crash because of Obama’s buffoonery and poor strategy.
Pathetic how Barry demoralized and skeletonized our heroes!!
As a retired military police officer/civilian police chief with many years of ground combat/police/investigator/court marshal case preparation/convening authority/etc.. experience, I very proud of President Trump and totally disgusted with every official from the investigators/JAG officers/Chain-of-Command/convening authority/SENAV for allowing a corrupt investigation and prosecution to go forward. Had I been the convening authority in the case in question I would have called the SEDEF personally and requested he send me a special investigator/prosecutor to get to the bottom of the entire affair in that it appears everyone between the NIS guys and the SENAV are not only idiots, but corrupt idiots. My only desire at this point is to be assigned as the guy that gets to see that every staff weenie involved in this fiasco is disciplined.
