Could This Blue State Swing Republican?

Although facing challenges for being the incumbent party in power at the federal level, Republicans are making inroads into Oregon. The Daily Caller reports:

Oregon voters are on the cusp of putting a Republican in the state governor’s mansion for the first time in nearly 40 years. Such a move would break convention and shift a reliably blue state into a win for the GOP.

Many Oregonians and some conservative critics believe Democratic Gov. Kate Brown has not moved forcefully enough to close a yawning $22 billion public pension deficit. So, they’re looking at Brown’s opponent Knute Buehler, a two-term representative in the state who has criticized President Donald Trump in the past. His moderate tone is gaining some steam.

“This is the first candidate I’m crossing party lines for in 20 years,” Danielle Miller, a mortgage loan officer who voted for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2016, told The Wall Street Journal Sunday. “Oregon is so behind in so many ways … under our current leadership.”

Oregon would join the handful of states Clinton won in 2016 that have Republican governors. The race is still tight, with recent polls showing Brown ahead by less than 5 percentage points. RealClearPolitics, Cook Political Report, and other polling outfits are rating the race a “toss up.”

Across the nation, incumbents, both Democrats and Republicans, are under great pressure from the grassroots, who feel like change is needed in Washington and in the states.

If there are enough intelligent and reasoning individuals left in Oregon it will definitely move toward conservatism!

There has been enough BAD actions recently that could cause those in office to worry, because they seem to want to cater to the RADICAL LEFT’s bad ideas of what is right and what is WRONG for the people of Oregon.
One article told by the news of Oregon was when the ALFA group decided to control (like the police might ) where people can go and when and the mayor told the police to step down and let them play themselves out and go home to eat or sleep .
Nothing was done to the ALFA group even though they caused a lot of people to try to get around their actions.

Oregon was the last hippie holdout and are have been.subservuent to the leadership (?) of their neighbors of Californication and Washington. Washington is dominated by Boeing and Starbucks. and liberal progressives and both companies are great contributors to Dems. Oregon is starting to break free of the West Coast Cabal. There is still hope for Oregon to wake up and join America.

There have been many evangelical conventions (rallies) in Portland presented by the Hungry Generation — the superb Andres Bisonni recently participated in what he called “Rain and Fire”, saving hundreds of people of all ages who are wildly in love with Jesus. I had the impresion that evangelical, born again Christians are plentiful in Portland, and throughout Oregon.
