AOC Suffers Humiliating Electoral Loss
On Tuesday, Ohio voters headed to the polls for many highly anticipated races, including in the Cleveland area where Democrat Rep. Shontel Brown faced a rematch of a previous special election against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) chosen far-left candidate Nina Turner.
Fox News reports:
The Associated Press called the 11th District primary for Brown, D-Ohio, shortly before 10:30 p.m.
Both Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and President Biden jumped into the race at the last second. Biden announced his support for Brown last week, and Ocasio-Cortez backed Turner on Monday, the day before the primary.Advertisement
But even before the endorsements, Brown had most of the establishment backing in the race while Turner, a top surrogate for Sen. Bernie Sanders‘ 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, was backed by many on the left.
The victory for Brown in the Cleveland-based district is a loss for Ocasio-Cortez, who has an effective record of endorsing Democratic primary challengers. She supported Rep. Cori Bush, D-Ohio, who beat former Rep. Lacy Clay, D-Mo., and Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., who unseated former Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y. Ocaio-Cortez herself beat former Rep. Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., to enter Congress in 2018.
This is the second time the AOC-backed candidate has lost to the more establishment pick, which could be a bellwether for other races across the nation. Many of Ocasio-Cortez’s chosen candidates still have primaries in New York, runoffs in Texas, and races across the nation.
Good heavens, I hope and pray that her endorsed candidates don’t win.
Americans need to wake up and realize what’s going on in our country under this regime. Our country is in very deep trouble.
Well, strap Turner together with Ocheesio-Cortex face to face in a strait jacket two sizes two small and watch them rip each other to shreds. Poetic justice?
