President Enforces Tough Immigration Law

The Trump Administration has rolled out a new policy that will force immigrants to be self-reliant and not be on welfare if they want to stay in the country. The Washington Examiner reports:

The Trump administration in October will enlarge the pool of immigrants who can be barred from entry or denied visa renewals because of their reliance on U.S. government benefits, according to a rule change published in the Federal Register.

The Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services formally submitted the update to a 1999 rule on Monday. The rule further expands the definition of a “public charge,” a term the government uses to indicate a noncitizen has a history of receiving long-term financial or other assistance.

“Through the public charge rule, President Trump’s administration is reinforcing the ideals of our self-sufficiency and personal responsibility, ensuring that immigrants are able to support themselves and become successful here in America,” USCIS Director Ken Cuccinelli said during a press conference Monday morning.

Immigrants seeking to enter the United States for the first time as well as those seeking renewal of visas will be judged based on assistance they have accepted from the federal government for at least 12 monthsin any 36-month period, including cash benefits, Supplemental Security Income, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, most forms of Medicaid, and some housing programs, according to the new rule. The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program and Medicaid were not previously part of the 20-year-old rule.

This is a huge step in immigration reform. The least that immigrants could do is not be a burden on society, and prove that they are a net positive to the nation. Democrats are already opposing the move, showing that they truly want open borders and unlimited benefits for them.

Good for President Trump! we want and encourage legal immigrants to add to the economy, not to be a drag on it.

Now I do suppose this will be challenged in a court of law being it is out side of what Congress passed as a law for this USA. Trump criticized Obama fro the few times Obama did it but Trump is already on track to pass Obama’s 8 years of doing it an this is only Trumps third year. Trump will also be passing all the former Presidents in their 8 years as well.

Actually it is directly from the law congress passed under Clinton. Do your homework. Just enforcing the laws they made!

YES! About time that ILLEGAL INVADERS are cut off from the benefits that they aren’t entitled to! Give the TaxPayer a break! This should start removing the magnet that ILLEGALS think they can tap onto when ILLEGALLY OCCUPYING this country!

Finally enforcing meaningful laws that have been enacted by BOTH SIDES of the aisle should be enforced and penalties demanded!

Are these immigrants being cut off from HUD housing too? I wonder if Dr. Ben Carlson fulfilled his promise to eliminate the loophole to prevent these immigrants from HUD housing occupancy?

Give the American people a break! If they’re not taking our welfare they’re taking our jobs. Either way, we lose. Until an end comes to that ridiculous illegal alien invasion at the southern border your measures are ineffective. Build the wall. Look at Israel. Walls work. Don’t come around touting a half ass measure as having done something great.

Thank God. This is long overdue. Why are illegals getting more free government handouts than citizens? Oh, I know, citizens know the value of hard work. This will force illegals to stay in their home country or come into this country legally with some skills.

It’s about time have been pushing No illegals, refugees, muslums, on our welfare, food stamps, medical, housing , they come here the right way no way should they receive any of these programs, they need a sponsor and a job waiting, they should NOT be Entitled to any programs, must be a citizen for a least 15-20 years worked and have paid into these programs before they ca apply for help No Exceptions these people lie just like the muslums to get what they can it has to stop no more tax exemptions for people coming here , seen this they get gov. To give them a store or gas station don’t pay taxes for 10 years then they give it to a relative they don’t pay taxes 10 years this has to stop, and hundreds of dollars in food stamps we paid in for 60 years can’t get food stamps unless we sell what we worked for this is BULL, and then double tax our Social Security NO tax on Social Security

End the Jobs/Welfare magnets. The underpaid Visa workers and the illegals will self deport and not return.
Require the legal immigrants to be self sufficient and to assimilate or leave.
As for the corrupt Socialist Democrats, love America or leave it.

‘Illegals’ are not entitled to”entitlements”, period. That should always have been a no-brainer. If the government is going to give sustenance and healthcare to illegals it should be called what it is…. CHARITY. They should be fed and sustained only while sending them back to wherever they came from.

Why the heck are ANY immigrants getting SSI? No wonder why our elderly and disabled are barely making it on what they get and they keep getting told Social Security is going bankrupt. Immigrants shouldn’t have access to ANY of it!

This is something a long time coming, and I am sure the Democrats will fight it tooth and nail!
When my grandfather cane to America (1892), he had to jump through ALL the hoops—–
Had to stay as Ellis Island for a month or more to assure he was disease free.
Had to have a sponsor to swear he had a place to stay.
Had to have funds or a marketable Skill.
Had to have NO criminal record!!

Thank Pres Trump for having the sense to revisit what worked so well.

Bravo to the President! Who ask for deadbeats to come to their Country? No One! We need to take care of our people and those coming to the USA need to carry their own load. The more that spreads, the fewer will come.

Those coming to America through Ellis Island had to have a job, a trade, or the money to support themselves and to agree to assimilate otherwise they were not admitted to America. This requirement is not different and is a very positive move for the taxpayers and for America.
