President Trump Calls for Small Government
In a cabinet meeting, President Trump has called on his secretaries to propose cuts to their own budgets. Breitbart reports:
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he would ask each member of his cabinet to cut five percent from their annual agency budgets.
“We’re going to ask every Secretary to cut five percent for next year,” Trump said.
AdvertisementThe president spoke to his cabinet members during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday afternoon, noting that some agencies could cut more than five percent.
“Get rid of the fat, get rid of the waste,” he said.
This would be a huge start to curbing excessive spending by the Federal government.

According to one site I found there are only 2,748,978 Federal Employees, thats about 1 Government Employee for every 120 US Citizens. What I would like to know is what the hell all these people are doing all day. I would be willing to bet that most of them work day shift because if you call any government office at 4:45PM you will get a recording.
What President Trump should do is tell every Supervisor level Employee to do first describe in detail what you and your department/division/section do. Then Justify your own job and that of all your subordinates. Next do a comparison of all department/division/section to find any redundancies, then start cutting. That goes for Congress as well. These people have dozens of flunkies working for them. Just how many people do they need to kiss their butt and tell them how wonderful they are?
Cutting down to just what is necessary only makes sense. I did that with my own finances & guess what? I got completely out of debt. Live within your means. Stay out of debt as much as possible. Save for a rainy day. Borrow from yourself & pay yourself back with interest. Don’t buy a bunch of junk you don’t need, won’t use, can’t afford, don’t have a place for. I very much like living this way. Don’t become a slave to $$$$.

As a retired Federal Worker (Air Traffic Controller) You are correct, the US Government is very bloated with people. When I was working, the number you quoted is low. I can remember when there was more than 4 million Federal employees on the payroll!
There needs to be a complete pairing down of employees in the federal service. There are so many useless, un-needed departments that do nothing! Even working in the FAA it was amazing how many people were making major bucks and not doing a damned thing.
If Trump were so frugal with government funds, he wouldn’t be spending billions for weapons of mass destruction, for his stupid wall, or for giving billions of tax dollars back to billionaires like himself who don’t need them. On the other hand, Donald is always looking for ways to cut Affordable Healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and programs designed to help students, the needy, minorities and those who need to clean breath air.
Stupid wall????? Illegal immigrants cost us taxpayers about $113 BILLION annually!! Bump that number up to about $200 BILLION a year when you factor in the amount of money shipped to Mexico from both drugs and family payments from workers. Build the wall, and we no longer have to PAY these illegals’ food, medical, education, and all the other freebies that the liberals want to give out like candy … AND we cut off the dirty money flow INTO Mexico (which they launder), which puts a big dent in THEIR pocketbook. THAT, my friend, is how Mexico pays for the wall, and how WE save billions and billions of dollars annually …. for things that WE need, like affordable health care, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc. Get it??

The Border Wall should cut cost of patrolling the “Border”. You sound like you believe that Individuals able to make better returns on their investments should be penalized at a much higher rate for making better decisions than you do. Programs to help Individuals should be based on Merit & Need; not Race at all. College Admissions should be based on the Quality of the Applicant and not their Race.
In addition, let’s demand Congress and the Senate take a 20% reduction in salary, and pay for their own medical insurance. That should save us a bundle. It would put smiles on lots of American faces.
We have A HUGE government that spends a lot of our tax dollars for things we do not need and only helps A few people in our HUGE GOVERNMENT and it is trying to get even bigger and we need to get the government under our control and to become A better government and to become A better government.
The ADS that does not move is covering up A lot of the email message and it makes it harder to read.
The ADS cover almost third of the up and down range of viewing of the email and the left side ad is covering maybe an eith of left to right viewing of the email covering some of the email
This is exactly the thinking that we need.
I think that with all the money we are saving USA should pay the China debt ASAP!!…..

A Constitutional Republic is not a welfare socialistic communist state open to the whole world. We should go back to our founding fathers who said to the people : NO WORK NO EAT. Between family and the tax exempt church, families should take care of their own. The Constitution outlaws slavery, however many persons live off the walk of others. Perhaps we should bring back slavery to force people to provide for themselves.
the federal and state governments all need cut down to 70% because MOST ALL PROGRAMS ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
I’m for it, but I want to see where the savings are applied, show how it actually benefits the American tax payer!
