Trump Administration Finalizes Ban on Flavored Vaping

In a move that has been controversial, especially among people who believe in limited government, the Trump administration has finalized its ban on flavored vaping products with some exceptions.

According to The Hill:

The Trump administration is banning certain flavors of cartridge-based e-cigarettes but is stopping short of eliminating all types of vaping products.

Under the policy unveiled Thursday by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the administration will strip the market of every pod-based flavor except for tobacco and menthol. Pod-based products, like those manufactured by Juul and NJOY, are the most popular with teens.

Open tank systems, which are commonly found in vaping shops and not as popular with young people, will be exempt from the policy.

According to FDA, companies that do not stop the manufacturing, distribution and sale of unauthorized flavored cartridge-based e-cigarettes (other than tobacco or menthol) within 30 days risk FDA enforcement actions.

The move is meant to combat the youth vaping issue but is seen as simply taking options away from adults who want to quit the far more dangerous alternative, cigarettes.

Pres. TRUMP loves Americans and he does not want to see one American die from something that can be stopped. Whatever he thinks is right, 99% is. So I will stand by him on this, as I hate all cigarettes anyway, as my Daddy died from them and my best friend did also. I have NEVER smoked like our president as I knew it was bad. ALL smoking is a killer. And I can see by people I know and loved its a horrible way to go.

These are the absolutely correct measures to take. Kids should NOT be smoking regular cigarettes either, in the first place, which leads them to sickness, death, in the case of Vaping With that said, it should also be made ILLEGAL for anyone under the age of 18 years old, to purchase cigarettes…PERIOD. The Lungs are not fully developed until 18 YO.
If they don’t smoke to begin with, they won’t need Vaping to quit. It’s that simple. And as far as the parents are concerned, they are either ‘not very smart’ or to ‘lenient’ to begin with. If a minor is caught with cigarettes, or vaping materials at school, the Principle should confiscate them, and call or write a letter to the parents of the child, asking for a private consultation, first. They can at that time ask the parents if they allow their child to smoke or Vape, then if not, they should show them the pack/Vape supplies they got from the child.
It should NOT be an invasion of privacy issue, and the parents need to understand the harm cigarette smoking and Vaping can be, not just for adults, but most especially for children. Smoking is the first Major Cause of COPD.
Back in the day, when I was in school, grades 6-12 were always disciplined for smoking on the grounds of the school. They had to stay after class, and their parents were required to picked them up after detention.
