Bush and Trump Families Reconcile
President George H.W. Bush, although no fan of President Trump, did not bar him from attending his funeral as John McCain had. The Washington Examiner reports:
Organizers of Wednesday’s funeral for former President George H.W. Bush want to avoid the type of just-below-the-surface criticism of President Trump that bubbled up during services for Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain in September.
A former Bush administration official told the Washington Post his family reached out to Trump to tell him that he was welcome at the funeral. Trump, by contrast, was not invited to the McCain funeral — at the request of the late senator. Speaker’s at McCain’s funeral included two former presidents, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
AdvertisementOther speakers McCain’s service issued not-so-subtle jabs at the sitting president. Daughter Meghan McCain’s eulogy alluded to “cheap rhetoric” by politicians. She also said “the America of John McCain had no need to be made great again, because America was always great,” referencing Trump’s 2016 campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
Trump had a strained relationship with McCain, especially after the war hero and longtime legislator cast the deciding vote against a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
This is a testament to Bush rising above partisanship and honoring the Presidential bond that only few men have experienced. This will hopefully reconcile the Republican Party at large, and forge a unified path against Democrat opposition coming in the new Congress.
I’m a long time fan of McCain but I believe he was not at the helm the last years of his life, and his decisions were out of spite and in great part influenced by outside influences. President HW Bush was a fantastic Human-being: and it cost him a reelection. He refused to stoop to the level that the politics of today thrive. He was a tough little guy that’s for sure, tough enough to turn the other cheek and make people feel special around him. His actions can teach us all so much in how to better lead our lives and be less reactive and insulting and disrespectful: maybe even gain a better understanding before we judge one another.
John McCain was a Navy Hot-Shot, Showboat Pilot whose antics onboard ship got Seamen KILLED. He got his USNA Gig because daddy was an Admiral. After his capture and while at Hanoi Hilton, the loss of American warplanes over V.N, shot down by NVN Missiles and AA virtually tripled. Hmmp: Wonder why THAT happened. And though he KNEW ObamaCare was a disaster for American Families, he poked us in the eye by voting to KEEP it! He and Obama sere :strange bedfellows”, but he did Obie’s bidding. He was a deep-stater, getting filthy rich off YOU and ME. A “Professional politician”. George H.W Bush wa sChief of CIA when JFK was assassinated. He and LBJ, two “good-buddy” oilmen from Texas couldn’t STAND John Kennedy (a truly Conservative Democrat). Kennedy had vowed to splinter the CIA “Spygruppen” for all the intrigue and murder they arranged and committed. So, murdering President Kennedy “killed two birds with one stone”. The Warren Report was a joke, and Bush and LBJ were in on it. It’ll all come out.
Many big differences between Bush 41 and McCain. First, Bush was president. Secondly, Bush was a great naval aviator. Thirdly, Bush loved his country. Fourthly, Bush was a conservative patriot. I could go on…
“Trump had a strained relationship with McCain, especially after the war hero and longtime legislator cast the deciding vote against a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act.”
Which made mccain a traitor.
Yes his hatred of Trump was greater than his love for America and the American People.
Which for me undoes all the good he did.
And the “good he did” was WHAT?
He wasn’t good for the VA, he tried to protect incumbents, he voted against repeal of obammycare. Need more?
Thanks for bring out the truth. I was thinking of supportin McCain until
I learned some of the negatives of his past. He was poorly influenced and did not have the love for his country that some wrongly reported
McCain was a traitor before that – during the Viet Nam war “Songbird McCain” and Jane Fonda were traitors, helping the VC. I was there during that time…
He was a traitor WELL before this.
Obviously, the Bush family has a lot more class than the McCain family. It’s too bad that it took a tragedy to bring a reconciliation.
Please enumerate and explain the Bush Family’s “Class”. I really want to hear this!
Barack Obama sent John McCain to the middle East to conspire with the leader of ISIS against all of the Christians in the Middle East in having them all killed off so that the Middle East would be Totally Islamic. Obama’s JV Team. Barack Obama and John McCain the two Anti-Christ’s.
McCain was a traitor to the USA and will Always Always be remembered as a traitor to the GOP’s And America! Mr Bush, RIP??
If President Trump doesn’t get the wall it is not his fault. It is the Dems and Rinos fault. He has truly tried to get that wall built but he can’t do it by himself. Remember that as the Dems will use it against Trump in next election.
Dems do not want their supply of cheap husekeepers, child labor, child porn and drug moles interrupted.

Sorry, but McCain was NOT a war hero. In Viet Nam we called him the song bird. So much
for his heroism….spilled the beans while in prison, which is a military disgrace. But because his Dad was an Admiral, the tale was spun that he was a hero… BS.
