Trump Would Look ‘Very, Very, Seriously’ at Jan. 6th Pardons if Reelected

Speaking at a Faith and Freedom event in Tennessee, former President Donald Trump criticized the way January 6th defendants are being treated and pledged to review their cases and issue pardons where he sees fit.

While he has not officially announced that he is seeking reelection, he occasionally strongly hints toward the possibility that he will do so.

Trump said those charged as a result of their actions at the Capitol are “having their lives totally destroyed and being treated worse than terrorists and murderers” despite relatively low-level charges for the majority of the arrested, according to Newsweek.

He said of potential pardons, “And if I become president, someday if I decide to do it, I will be looking at them very, very seriously for pardons. Very, very seriously.” He has previously made similar pledges to “treat those people from January 6th fairly”.

Not all Republicans agree with Trump’s intention, even allies like Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) who has a somewhat hot-and-cold but amicable relationship with the former president.

Graham has said the idea of offering pardons to defendants was “inappropriate”.

His sentiment is shared by anti-Trump attorney George Conway, who said that Trump’s statements could be considered “an attempt at witness tampering”.

Trump’s ex-attorney, Michael Cohen, said the same in an interview with MSNBC over the weekend. “Because what he’s really saying here is that he doesn’t want these people to cooperate, and if you don’t cooperate, then I’ll pardon you.”

There is nothing “inappropriate” about the thought of pardons. The elephant in the room is the harsh treatment of anyone at the J-6 Rally compared to the “peaceful arsons; the peaceful lootings [theft]; the peaceful murders of the Summer 2020 riots and most all of those arrested were freed by leftist judges. This the two-tiered justice system the left likes to talk about. Only a token person in Portland OR has been charged but the mainstream news doesn’t talk about him anymore. So, since the Leftist walk free, pardons are very appropriate to discuss and to hand out.

Conway is a disgusting slob, it’s impossible for him to give a fair opinion on anything Trump. Nobody in this country should be treated like those being held due to January 6th. All those in office should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for not standing up for these people.

January 6th. was a liberal ruse and it worked. The press, those who love to pass along the rumors are all over this whole “resurrection” b.s. and they’re adding spice to it via every “news” article that keeps cropping up about that farcical “resurrection” that never was… Hook, line and sinker…

Of course there were some bad actors on Jan 6th, but it was a protest and by no means an insurrection. Obama was the cowardly insurrectionist who filled all branches of Government silently with Deep-State goons to advance Socialism. The Jan 6th victims are being held in conditions where the Geneva Convention does not apply, and that for sentences of indefinite duration. Down with the DemonCrats and their UN-American injustices!

I agree that some Democrats are over reaching and quite often completely ethically and morally wrong. They behave as typical uber wealthy persons who weild their superior I am better than all of you mentality. The hypocricy is sickning. I believe it does not serve Americans to allow career politicians to control Americans during their office or position through bad policies. BUYER BEWARE! Know who you are voting for, or live with the rotten egg elected to the office.
