GOP Lawmakers Growing Concerned With Trump’s Impeachment Approach

A new report indicated that many Republican officials have been growing concerned with Trump’s response to impeachment.

According to The Hill:

Senate Republicans want President Trump to focus more on his agenda and not let himself become personally consumed by the House impeachment inquiry, which is likely to hit a dead end in the Senate.

Senate Republicans have urged the president on multiple occasions to keep his eye on top policy priorities and let his allies on Capitol Hill handle more of the day-to-day skirmishing over impeachment, according to GOP sources familiar with communications with the president.

One instance came late last month during a meeting between Trump and Republican senators at the White House, when Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) urged the president to follow the model of how President Clinton handled impeachment in 1998 and 1999.

The GOP senator, who is an adviser to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), urged Trump at the Oct. 24 meeting to keep his focus on the agenda and let Republican lawmakers do more of the heavy lifting in fighting back against the Democratic impeachment push.

The report points to Clinton’s approach of focusing on legislating and impeachment where Trump has already declared bi-partisan legislation to be impossible to craft with the ongoing impeachment inquiry.

Trump will not be impeached through the Senate. In fact the Senate will have the right to investigate as soon as the idiots in the House pass them the ball. When that happens there will be hell to pay. The facts WILL come out and Hillary, Biden and a whole bunch of people will go down. Hillary and Biden for Ukraine and Russia alone ….but it will not stop there. My guess is that a WHOLE BUNCH of conspirators will be revealed in the Senate Trial.

If the White House thinks this, don’t they talk with TRUMP? And when he is EVER wrong, NEVER. What mistake has he ever made????? None. TRUMP is the best president in history. GOD bless America. The DEMS are the most FAKE, evil, vile most corrupt people ever. The Deep State is evil to the core. GOD will have the last say. I would be very afraid if I were Hillary, Obama, etc.. as soon the people protecting them will fall, indictments, military tribunal, GITMO and then execution for TREASON on America. GOD bless Pres. TRUMP, we love him for his scarfice to America. I pray daily that TRUMP finds out about Harry Patsalides and uses him to clean out the swamp. Harry is so experience in D.C. and still holds a top security clearance. Harry-st. attorney office– 727-464-6760 or cell- 727-410-1187 . Harry loves TRUMP and wants to help him by cleaning out the swamp.

Take the political advice of establishment Republicans and do the exact opposite. Trump got elected prcisely because he does what establishment Republicans habitualy refuse to do; he fights back. If Republicans want him to “focus on his agenda” then the Republicans had better start fighting back against the ant- American left instead of the at best tepid responses they usually give. If the Senate republicans would simply state clearly and convincingly that there will be no conviction in the Senate and the obvious reasons why, most of this would die under it’s own weight. Will they do that? No. So here we are.

GOP needs to think Trump can’t accomplish his agenda as long as the democrats keep pushing for impeachment. There is nothing coming out of congress that has bipartisan support so Trump can’t get anything done. All he can do his complain about the democrats trying to impeach him and keep reminding the american people that he can’t get anything done because the democrats won’t let him.

The senate wants trump to talk on his achievements and not address this stupid impeachment well he would if the lazy ass senate would help do their jobs instead of riding trumps coattails and start having their own hearings of the same people that lying Schiff has called that way we would know the truth but no Lindsey graham wants to do nothing promised hearings and yet to do a damn thing but wants trumps help for his election McConnell needs to get off his dead ass and starting helping president or get the hell out and put a new Republican in his place

Hear hear! I couldn’t agree more. What do these guys (some of them “Never-Trumpers”) expect the President to do? Bend over and spread his cheeks (like he did during the Mueller inquisition?)
Gentlemen: This “marbles” game is being played “for keeps.” YOU GUYS, either fish or cut bait but quit criticizing The President. HE knows what he’s doing. Do you?

The Clinton’s were a model of corruption. Don’t copy anything they did. Pray and then proceed as God has directed you.

I understand their point, and agree that he should focus on his agenda, and continueing to repair, and rebuild this nation just like he has so far. However, he has been attacked by some very powerful people, with very serious, yet false, allegations for 3 years, it is understandable that he would want to defend himself, especially this close to the next election cycle, when the establishment will likely use the impeachment cover of their coup attempts to claim he shouldn’t be reelected. They will drag this out long enough to try using it against him, because they are desperate to maintain their control of the country, and continue their globalist agenda, b y destroying our freedoms.

I wouldn’t trust Mc Connell. He could sell out at any time and decide to blackmail Trump by threatening to bring House charges to trial. Keep your own hand on the steering wheel.

President Trump responds as he must… his observation that Congress [the House] is consumed of Democrats running rampant with impeachment so to the point that they cannot do basic legislation which would benefit America – something Trump has been accomplishing via executive action. GOP Congressmen/women ought rally behind the President 100% and get out into their constituencies, proving they can and will have actionable, positive results!
