President Trump’s Approval Rating Will Surprise You

President Trump’s approval index is currently at its highest since the Midterm elections in November. Rasmussen reports:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 36% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -3. (see trends).

The same day last year, Trump had an approval index of -11, with only 42% overall approval rating. Despite a loss in the House in the Midterms, it looks like Trump’s popularity could be on the rise again. It will be put to the test with the upcoming border wall fight with Democrats to get the proper funding.

Looking at 2020, an evenly split opinion among Americans would be better than it looks for President Trump. Incumbent Presidents have a built in advantage, as many middle of the road and independents do not wish to change course in a booming economy.
