San Francisco Restaurant Changes Tune After Refusing Service to the Police

A San Francisco restaurant seems to be having a change of heart after refusing service to police officers.

According to Townhall:

A San Francisco restaurant is apologizing after refusing to serve two uniformed police officers on Friday because, according to the owners, their presence, which included being armed, was making staff members uncomfortable.

“We respect the SFPD and what they do to support our community, however the presence of their weapons in the restaurant made us uncomfortable. This is not a political statement, we did what we thought was best for our staff,” owners Rachel Sillcocks and Kristina Liedags posted on Instagram with a full statement.

By Sunday, Hilda and Jesse posted another statement, this time saying they made a mistake and they respect all members of the city’s police department.

“We made a mistake and apologize for the unfortunate incident on Friday when we asked members of the San Francisco Police Department to leave our restaurant. We are grateful to all members of the force who work hard to keep us safe, especially during these challenging times. We hope this will be a teachable moment for us as we repair and continue to build bridges with the SFPD,” Sillcocks and Liedags said.

The incident happened as certain crimes in the city are exploding.

I would tell you no thanks, I will take my business elsewhere, and I will encourage others to do the same. How could you be so stupid not to serve the people who are hired to protect you. Your staff must be a bunch of wimps with no common sense. SFOPD, eat somewhere else where you will be welcome with open arms.

It is unfortunate that this article neglected to include the name of the restaurant so that everyone who supports the police might avoid eating there from now on.

Just look the owners and the name pops up. People have boycotted them is why the apology – no other reason.

Start mind before engaging mouth! In this case maybe the truth slipped out. So if you have a serious problem at your establishment, give a social worker a call and see out that works for you.

No problem.. you can be 8th on the list when trouble occurs. Sorry but we just don’t have any officer available to respond at this time.

Yeah. And when your lil’ ol’ restaurant comes under criminal attack, the policemen might just move your call to the bottom of the list. And the malefactors just might lose it and kill you or some customers. I would not condone such an action of police indifference, but it would hardly be surprising.
