Epstein Partner Ghislaine Maxwell Receives 20 Years in Prison

via US District Court for the Southern District of New York

Maxwell was convicted of helping Jeffrey Epstein recruit, groom, and abuse underage girls. The sentence is shorter than the government recommended, but it still ensures she will spend most of the rest of her life in jail.

Judge Alison Nathan also imposed the maximum $750,000 fine under the law, according to the New York Times.

Preparing to deliver the sentence, she said, “Ms. Maxwell directly and repeatedly and over the course of many years participated in a horrific scheme” to traffic young girls for Epstein. Therefore, a “substantial sentence” is warranted.

Maxwell was convicted last December. The government presented evidence portraying her as an experienced predator who “preyed on vulnerable young girls, manipulated them and served them up to be sexually abused by Epstein”, as prosecutors wrote.

“Years of sexual abuse, multiple victims, devastating psychological harm: none of this could have happened without Maxwell,” they insisted.

Her trial and sentencing comes after Epstein scandalously managed to hang himself in his prison cell just one month after his arrest, avoiding a trial and further public spectacle.

Maxwell, currently 60, will leave not leave prison until her late 70s if given credit for time served and good behavior.

Interesting that she would take 20 years and not substantially less were she willing to risk her like and name names.
