Biden Attempts Meeting with Saudis After Promising Their ‘Isolation’
The White House is laying the basis for a high-profile meeting between President Joe Biden and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reversing campaign promises to “isolate” the Gulf nation amid soaring gas prices.
They’ll face an uphill battle after Biden’s rhetoric both on the campaign trial and since being elected caused the relationship between the two countries to become ice cold. After maintaining a positive relationship with former President Donald Trump, Saudi Arabia’s crown prince refused to accept calls from Biden during a previous attempt to discuss oil.
Sources familiar with the plans say eventual meeting will be focused on convincing Riyadh to release more oil in the hopes of bringing down gas prices.
“I’m certain that President Biden will ask MBS to increase oil production faster than the OPEC group has been,” said Samantha Gross, director of the Energy Security and Climate Initiative at the Brookings Institution.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Riyadh on Monday, further complicating any oil negotiations.
Biden’s plans for a meeting have already garnered criticism from activists.
Sarah Leah Whitson, executive director of Democracy for the Arab World Now, criticized the Biden administration for “kowtowing to a murderous dictator.”

Why in the Hell should we even be buying oil from any other country. We Americans (USA, Canada & Mexico) should agree to allow our own Natural Resources to be used four our countries. This continent can give us all we need to be self-sustaining. Our farmers raise more crops & meat products than anywhere in the world. Close our Borders to protect the USA & our Citizens. Alternatively, those two COUNTRIES might just consider a bargain deal for the USA: 2X or 3X the going international rate of a barrel of oil. Some deal, huh?
Meanwhile: Power “brown-outs” and “blackouts” will occur more frequently…because a few more electric cars charging-up and many air conditioners and electric heaters ALL ON…until causing constantly NO POWER available.
Meanwhile: No fuel for airlines or trains, or military planes and vehicles or Navy ships. Or our fossil-fueled cars. And forget being able to drive to a JOB.
THEN: Use the Strategic Oil Reserves to fuel the building of the Keystone XL Pipeline, to restart drilling on Federal lands and offshore and at ANWR. Before our USA is in the DARK AGES forever…starting within this decade !

Why would we want “dirty” oil from the Saudis when we can pump more West Texas light crude oil? Biden could let us pump oil and solve the gas price problem in a heart beat but that would upset the “”woke” individuals in this country. Plus getting the oil through the Straits of Hormuz.
