Trump’s Endorsement of Dr. Oz Proves Controversial

Trump gave his endorsement during a rally in North Carolina over the weekend, but was met with a variety of criticism by his biggest fans.

“I have known Dr. Oz for many years, as have many others, even if only through his very successful television show. He has lived with us through the screen and has always been popular, respected, and smart,” Trump said. “Women, in particular, are drawn to Dr. Oz for his advice and counsel. I have seen this many times over the years. They know him, believe in him, and trust him. Likewise, he will do very well in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, where other candidates will just not be accepted.”

But some advisers are worried that Oz is too big of a risk. Recent polls suggest he could be easily beaten by other candidates in the running.

Others say Oz can’t be trusted to carry out Trump’s America First agenda compared to Dave McCormick, who is working closely with former Trump administration official Hope Hicks.

“It’s like Donald Trump’s staff is sabotaging Trump by convincing him to make the worst possible endorsements,” conservative radio host Erick Erickson tweeted.

“This endorsement could divide MAGA in the only way that matters: he could lose America First conservatives over it,” Breitbart News’ Joel Pollak suggested.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was more positive. “I think we’re in a good position to win that race regardless of who the nominee is,” he said on Fox News Sunday.
