Manchin Declares: “It’s Dead”

As Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) spoke to reporters on Capitol Hill before lunch, Joe Manchin (D-WV) crashed the party. In the middle of Wyden’s reassurances that Build Back Better would find common ground among Democrats and their moderate party members, Manchin walked around the corner. Asked about the legislation, Manchin pointedly responded, “What Build Back Better bill? There is no … I mean, I don’t know what y’all are talking about.”

He seemed annoyed when asked if he was engaged in negotiations on the bill, saying “No, no, no, no. It’s dead.” He appeared tentative toward smaller package, adding, “We’ll see what people come up with. I don’t know.” Earlier this month he said he had not been included in any White House negotiations.

Biden’s signature piece of legislation was derailed in December when Manchin announced he couldn’t vote for the House-passed version. Democrats rely on Manchin and fellow moderate Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) as they hold a barely-there majority of the Senate.

I DON’T TRUST Joe Manchin, period!
At the end of the day they’re all DEMONKRAPS and they do something we can’t seem to learn.
THEY STICK TOGETHER!
They’ll break it up and make it so he will vote for it.
I really hope that I’m wrong.

Nine Island Girl, you should give Manchin credit, he deserves it!

After all he, didn’t stick ”together”, went against a piece of legislation, that being from the old school as a democrat and patriot, was against his moral belief…

Maria, I hope you come back and read this: first of all, I absolutely do not understand the people of WV. A totally RED state, that would vote in a Dem senator. That boggles my mind.
Is you read my previous post, you will see that I said. They will break it up and twist him enough, that eventually he’ll give in. That’s why I don’t trust him. But I appreciate your reply.

ironically, Nine and Maria are both right. In a perfect world everything would make perfect sense. But we will all just have to wait and see what transpires. Perhaps everything will clear up in the Morning.
