Supreme Court Refuses to Block NY Healthcare Worker Mandate
The Supreme Court has now struck down a new challenge to a New York vaccine mandate by health care workers seeking an exception based on religious grounds.
As CNBC reports:
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied an emergency bid to block enforcement of New York’s coronavirus vaccine mandate for health care workers.
AdvertisementThe legal challenge was filed by a group of 20 doctors and nurses who argued that the state’s vaccine mandate violates the First Amendment to the Constitution because it fails to include a religious exemption.
The request for an injunction had been presented to Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who is assigned to handle cases from New York.
Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Samuel Alito — three of the court’s six-member conservative majority — said in the order that they would have granted the bid to block the mandate.
The report comes as some health care providers have attempted to find ways around the mandate as the shortage of health care workers, exacerbated by vaccine mandates, has worsened.

It’s not just that. Students in New York who might once have considered careers in the health professions will now rethink their choices.
Mandates are NOT laws. They ae ALL setting themselves up for arrest and conviction. I hope that happens. THEY are all breaking the law and violating the Constitution.
