Biden Transfers Gitmo Detainee
Joe Biden has transferred the first Guantanamo detainee of his presidency.
According to NBC News:
The Department of Defense announced the transfer of Abdul Latif Nasir to his native Morocco in a statement early Monday.
In 2016, under then-President Barack Obama, a review board determined that Nasir’s detention was no longer necessary to protect against “a continuing significant threat” to the national security of the United States, according to the statement.
The board recommended that Nasir be repatriated but the transfer was not completed by the end of the Obama administration. Nasir was also not repatriated under former President Donald Trump.
“The United States commends the Kingdom of Morocco for its long-time partnership in securing both countries’ national security interests,” the statement said.
39 prisoners remain at the prison.

There is one thing that seems to bypass most, under the Geneva Convention you can not hold war prisoners indefinitely when the conflict ends which the Trump Administration said would happen by September. Then the USA must set in motion a way to return all those war prisoners back to their home land or to somewhere they want to go.
You dont need to return them, just shoot them.

Terrorists are not an organized regular army and therefore do not fall under the Geneva convention for prisoners of war. They are terrorists and criminals with no rights in this country.
