Biden Keeps Trump’s Refugee Cap
President Joe Biden has kept in place a cap on refugees put into place by former President Trump.
According to The Washington Free Beacon:
WASHINGTON (Reuters)—President Joe Biden signed an order on Friday to keep the U.S. refugee cap at a historically low 15,000, a senior administration official said, opting against a plan he had been considering to raise it to 62,500.
AdvertisementThe decision was a blow to refugee advocates who had wanted Biden to move swiftly to reverse the policies of his Republican predecessor, Donald Trump, who had set the 15,000 cap as a way to limit immigration.
Biden two months ago had considered raising the cap to 62,500 and earlier on Friday a group of Democratic lawmakers renewed appeals for him to act.
Biden’s decision to delay issuing the revised refugee cap for this year appeared tied to concerns over the optics of admitting more refugees amid rising levels of migrants arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border in recent months, and to not wanting to look “too open” or “soft,” another U.S. official with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
Biden did expand the number of countries they would offer refugee status to.

Biden has no excuse for the way the people who live in the border states of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, etc have been treated since he took office. Not only are the “so called refugees” (children and others) being treated so badly it is a disgrace, but they are being thrown over fences and locked up in over crowded facilities. Keep them out of the USA and check all who want to come into the USA. It is stupid to allow people who are sick to enter the country spreading diseases to those here. “Ignorance is rampant and those in the US government are too stupid to care.” God help us … the citizens of the USA.
