Pelosi and Schumer Encouraged by Trump?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer are encouraged by President Trump’s calls for increased coronavirus relief.

According to The Hill:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday they were “encouraged” after President Trump’s tweet urging Republicans to go for a larger coronavirus relief package after months of stalled negotiations.

Trump’s tweet undercut Republicans’ long-held position on the coronavirus relief package in his tweet Wednesday.

“We are encouraged that after months of the Senate Republicans insisting on shortchanging the massive needs of the American people, President Trump is now calling on Republicans to ‘go for the much higher numbers’ in the next coronavirus relief package,” Pelosi and Schumer said in a joint statement after Trump’s tweet.

“We look forward to hearing from the President’s negotiators that they will finally meet us halfway with a bill that is equal to the massive health and economic crises gripping our nation,” the top Democrats added.

The President tweeted his encouragement:

It remains to be seen whether President Trump’s encouragement works or not, but he has made his stance crystal clear.

They won’t be encouraged when they learn that he STILL doesn’t mean giving money to special interests that have nothing to do with the virus, like their many welfare programs, or their attempts to use it to fund abortions, pecker removals, and many other retarded programs.,
