American Companies Reportedly Leaving China

A new report indicates that US companies are beginning to leave China.

According to The Daily Wire:

The coronavirus COVID-19 that originated in China may be the last straw that finally has triggered American companies to exit China. In the Global manufacturing consulting firm Kearney’s seventh annual Reshoring Index released on Tuesday, co-author Patrick Van den Bossche writes:

Three decades ago, U.S. producers began manufacturing and sourcing in China for one reason: costs. The trade war brought a second dimension more fully into the equation―risk―as tariffs and the threat of disrupted China imports prompted companies to weigh surety of supply more fully alongside costs. COVID-19 brings a third dimension more fully into the mix, and arguably to the fore: resilience―the ability to foresee and adapt to unforeseen systemic shocks.

As Kenneth Rapoza writes in Forbes, the Kearnsey report revealed a “dramatic reversal” because domestic U.S. manufacturing in 2019 outdid 14 Asian exporters tracked in the study. Rapoza notes succinctly, “Manufacturing imports from China were the hardest hit.”

Rapoza opines that other nations in southeast Asia and Mexico may become primary target spots for American companies. He adds, “The new SARS coronavirus has literally closed the economies of the Western world and created a public relations nightmare for China.”

The control exerted over the United States supply chain by China may soon be coming to an end.

Ever since Milwaukee tools were sold out to the Chinese in 2005, I refuse to buy anything with their name on it. The quality of the power tools is junk unlike the tools manufactured in the USA back in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Raymond, this is all well and good, however, the important thing to know is that this country could, at will, damage us and our economy. An example is the masks, that have failed worldwide, and drugs which we all take. I would suggest that certain items need to be made strictly here in the U.S. If I have to pay a few pennies more, and the corporations have to make a little less every year, it would be worth it for peace of mind. Don’t you agree?

I agree to withhold the US contribution to the WHO and also include UN for that matter for helping and covering up for CHINA.

about F’in time. I can pay $10 more for my iphone to be made in US, or at least have them made in a friendly country like Vietnam, Philippines or India. Shit, I would rather have made in Mexico than made in China. Overall Made in US would be the best but maybe not the most practical for everything.

For many decades, I preached that we should not buy from china. I was so happy with
Sam Walton when he proclaimed he would sell nothing but American made goods. When he passed away I noticed the cheap merchandise and American products gone. My thought was ‘you can save money buying cheap and when it breaks, you can buy it again, cheap’. If you had paid a little more for a quality American made product, it was cheaper than paying twice. Buying twice is filling the landfills twice as fast!

Why not do what I do? I have refused to buy anything with the label “Made in China” for at least 8 years. I found the products were shoddy and cheaply made and that’s not what I want when I buy something. So I pay a little more? OK, so I pay a little more! It’s worth the ‘peace of mind’ to pay a little more. Try it —- you’ll like it!

The best way to convince US Companies to stop using China as their main source of manufacturing is to stop buying anything Made in China. The only way to get the message across is to hit these companies where it hurts the most, in their wallets. Stop complaining and Buy US ONLY.

I like Miller’s idea of charging high tariffs on all Chinese made products. Another thing to try is not allow ANY Chinese (citizen) students into our Universities no matter how good their grades or how well they do on entrance exams. Finally, all Chinese nationals that have jobs here in the US should be sent home

One thing this has taught us is we cannot trust China and we certainly cannot afford to be dependent on them for anything. Bring back our companies to America.

We buy from China and they sail aircraft carriers against us bought from Russia. Why in the world do we have to support a country like this. Just about everything in my house says “made in China” right down to the toilet brush now we have Cor0navirus, also MADE IN CHINA.

It is time for U.S.A. consumers to boycott “Made in China”. Maybe that will teach the U.S. retailers to support our own country.

If China is considered out of bounds for many of the things it chooses to do, it will be very well received by American and other countries if they discontue to do business with a country that cares not at all about its own people or about people throughout the world! The Coronavirus has shown us just what China thinks about the health and welfare of its people and the people of other nations!

We have enough people here that can make the things I buy and made in China, Have the girls &
guys take sewing lessions, — go to Michaels and see all that is made in China, and I buy a lot from
that store, We can make them here and I won’t buy from them. Walk through and have the kids
take sewing lessings, boys can learn to make frames, and the rest of the things, flowers, etc.
We don’t need other countries, we have a Great One already, just need people to work and make
the things.

A can opener made in China which I purchased at Walgren’s was bent by the can. The metal was so soft and cheap that the can bent the tool. This was about 15 yrs. ago. so tired of cheap junk and inferior quality of goods made in China. Even expensive clothes are manufactured with poor — low quality fabric – so tried of it . Young people don’t even know how to judge quality anymore. Most people would spend more to have quality things again – fabric for one.
