Trump Announced Increased Counternarcotics Operation

The Trump administration is increasing its presence in the Caribbean as part of an enhanced counternarcotics operation.

According to The Hill:

Trump administration officials announced Wednesday that the U.S. military would send naval ships and aircraft to the Caribbean as part of an enhanced counternarcotics operation.

President Trump and other top officials discussed the operation at the top of a White House coronavirus briefing Wednesday evening. Trump said it was important not to let drug cartels “exploit the pandemic to threaten American lives.”

Defense Secretary Mark Esper said the Pentagon would deploy additional ships, aircraft and security forces to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility as part of the operation.

“At a time when the nation and the Department of Defense are focused on protecting the American people from the spread from the coronavirus, we also remain vigilant to the many other threats the country faces,” Esper told reporters.

This is part of the administration’s “whole of government” approach to combatting the importation of illicit drugs into the US.

This is supposed to be a War on Drugs. If it is truly a War then it should be fought as such. The main idea in any war is to kill and or destroy the Enemy. Americans are dying from these drugs and we have a right to defend ourselves. The Military should be Armed and given full authorization to stop the Enemy using all necessary force. These drug dealers deserve NO Quarter, if they are on a ship, it should be sunk with all hands on board, aircraft should be shot out of the sky and land vehicles likewise destroyed. These drug dealers don’t give a damn who they hurt or kill and we should respond in kind.

Fight the Damn war like it is real and dangerous. We can deal afterwards with addicts’ withdrawals. The cartels see us and our people as fools and they take advantage of us. Stop this nonsense, this criminal behavior. The libertarian idea that people should be free to be selfish and stupid so long as it doesn’t hurt others is wrong. Drug abuse hurts everyone, especially families.

I agree wholeheartedly! If necessary, snd armed troops into Mexico with or without Mexican govrnment cooperation or approval! Try to begotiate their cooperation, but in hot pursuit of drug trafficers, cross the border to get them! Mexican soldiers have crossed into the USA and disarmed our Border Patrol lawmen to proptect teir drug dealers. That is an act of war! e cossed over into Meico in force to get Pancho Villa a long time ago. Time to do it again!

Now the fact is the only reason there is a drug trade is because there are customers. Now some seem to think that they can do better than the USA did during Phohibition, when the only people who won were the persons breaking the law by smuggling alcohol into the USA in as many ways as your imagination would let you think of and we spent the equivelant of $500 Billion supposedly trying to stop something that the majority wanted to happen. Now like then the only people getting rich are the head of the organization and if you take one head off another takes its place, and there is a line in waiting longr than anyone could imagine.
Now Al Capone spent about $1 Million trying to get drugs that were legal at the time made illegal so that the MOB could make more tax free money off of them. Now the fact is a lot of businesses in this USA were started with drug money from persons who wanted to take the risk for the large amount involved.
No one can stop something the people want in huge numbers, and history has proven that many times over.

Actually you are 100% WRONG. The issue is that in countries that do NOT want the hassle just do NOT let the perpetrators LIVE. Here we want the court fees, attorney fees and incarceration costs, bail fees an INDUSTRY that overshadows the entire COUNTRY (look at the justice industry as a WHOLE and we see that the intent is MONEY not safety and not upholding law). Include family protective services (in name only) and the entirety of the INDUSTRY becomes to huge that it is non- stoppable. Countries that make selling and using drugs a lethal sentence have NO ISSUE with drug problems at all.
It is VERY simple Death sentence to anyone who uses or sells drugs. They are ALL guilty of murder of others in sales and use to begin with.
In those other countries some of them have NO court, they find drugs on you and you are EXECUTED Then and there. Others the court is SWIFT and the execution INSTANT or VERY SOON. they hove little problem with drug sales or use.
If you want to END an issue make the cost so severe that there is no way that anyone will be involved therefore you can not make the cost MONEY. If you want $$$ to be the issue then have courts that take 1-5 years, and simple 3 year sentences out in a year….and charge the criminals MONEY. Guess which one The USA has Chosen? Guess which one Mexico has chosen? Guess which one England and France have Chosen, Germany? Nederlands?
Now consider many countries in SE Asia. If there is a prison for drug offenders MOST will either not survive it or will NEVER want to return to it for any reason. Here in the USA drug prison is a RETREAT and a VACATION and LEARNING experience of how to get away with it next time.
Your issue is that you do NOT see the truth but see through a clouded ideology that is set up to make $$$. We are CONTROLLED by judges, attorneys, and government prosecutors and defenders and social workers. Get rid of them and the problem goes away.

If this administration was really interested it keeping drugs out of our country, they’d defund the CIA and the FBI and the UN and Big Pharma which does 10 times the business selling harmful deadly drugs as street dealers do. Try arresting all these globalist traitor’s who all get a cut of the profits while flooding our streets with more and more deadly drugs, taking our guns away while the CIA & FBI gives guns to the drug dealers in our children’s schools as well as to the cartel. All as they are constantly working to remove our 1st amendment rights and pass more laws to kill our babies and legalize pedophilia as they bolster the human trafficking trade……sill, Washington funds them, sitting on their hands while watching American’s continue to die. The very lowest levels of Hell are waiting for them when the day comes that they all have to meet their maker…….The final judge won’t have to try and get justice through our worthless DOJ and the weakest court system in the world, even their worthless corrupt knees will have to bow and face His judgement…..

Life is about the choices we make. In my seven plus decades of life I have made good choices and bad choices. I have seen many people who decided a life of drugs for whatever reason is what they wanted. Most of those I knew as a younger man are now dead from that choice of drugs. Many of them resorted to crime to pay for drugs. It is so distressing to watch a once strong and vibrant person become sick and worthless to society. Excusing the use of drugs because some part of society feels the need is not a pliable reason. The cost of drug interdiction has cost the tax payer over the decades trillions of dollars and still, drug use is still growing at the cost to society. Illicit drug manufacturing, mules, drug pushers; since they cause death should face the death penalty. To hell with them!
Yes, they call it a war on drugs, but in reality, the judges and prosecutors seemly see the crime as the blue collar type. That needs to end. Let’s stop the arrest and release game and treat drugs like it is, a lethal weapon. If it takes lethal military interdiction, so be it. The monies that have been wasted in the past could have been used for many other good things.

No …a simple set of facts and rules. Get caught with drugs for sale….court happens in 2-4 weeks. You sit in jail until then, no bail.
Then you have a trial. Not guilty …you go home. Guilty you go to death row. You don’t wait 23 years…the paperwork is sent to SCOTOUS and SCOTUS is INFORMED that in 120 days the defendant will be executed.
Total time, 4 months 2 weeks and the perpetrator is EXECUTED.
Guaranty no more drug problems…at all.

There are those deep within the government that have chosen to run their positions as a criminal organization, and the illegal drug trade, (along with all the other illegal trade they are involved in), brings in the funds they need to support the terrorist groups and gangs they use to attack this country and it’s citizens, all the while telling you it is some terrorist group, They just forgot to tell you the funding came from them against their own country!

I think we are missing a vital link in the fight against drugs and that is early education. If we teach our children starting at a very early age how dangerous these drugs are (with videos), they will always remember the outcome. Just like the children remember how to read and write they will remember how dangerous will be. If they don’t buy the stuff, then there will be no sales. OK, it will take some time to take effect, but it took a long time to become a huge business.
