Trump Administration Will Resume Public Land Coal Leases
The Trump administration has announced it will begin leasing public lands for coal mining and prospecting.
According to The Hill:
The Trump administration announced on Wednesday that it will be resuming coal leasing on public lands, angering conservationists.
AdvertisementThe Bureau of Land Management said in a statement Wednesday that it had completed an environmental assessment and found no significant impact from lifting the pause on processing applications for new coal leases.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of the Interior has ended the war on American energy and coal, which allows local communities to prosper,” said Casey Hammond, the acting assistant secretary for land and minerals management, in the statement.
“Coal is and will continue to be a critical part of our nation’s energy portfolio and we are committed to the responsible development of our abundant resources and advancing American energy independence, jobs, and economic growth,” Hammond added.
The Trump administration first tried to reverse this Obama-era policy in 2017 but was stopped by the federal courts that said environmental assessments were not sufficient.
Good Job Mr. President
We should make leftist heads explode some more and announce we’ll open up FDR’s old back yard in Hyde Park to fracking on the banks of the Hudson.
WHAT ABOUT OIL? WE HAVE MORE OIL UNDERGROUND HERE IN THE USA THAN THE TOWEL HEADS HAVE IN ALL THEIR COUNTRIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST. WE SHOULD NOT BE PAYING THE OIL PRICES THAT ARE NOW GIVING THE ARABS. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY AND THE EXPERIENCE OF DRILLING FOR OIL ANYWHERE IN THE USA OR UNDER THE SEA.
These Lands are God-Given with all of the assets contained, and they are “We The People” Public lands, not some Government Bureau’s. We were abundantly blessed with these awesome Asset blessings with God’s commandment ” To Have dominion over”, in other words use and use wisely.
i just can’t believe that 17% of this country are brain dead idiots, what cave did they live in for the obummer years
We have enough coal in this country to supply our needs for electricity for the next two or three centuries. The technology currently exists to collect the CO2 from coal fired power plants and combine that with Hydrogen to create fuel for all transportation needs. The only real requirement here is that the Hydrogen be produced using non-hydrocarbon fuel such as Nuclear, Solar, Wind, or Water. All of this can be done with no new R&D. At most some plant scale-up would be required.
That with the modern fracking processes will keep the United States replete with all the energy that we could possible need with zero imported energy sources for decades if not centuries to come.
