Senior administration officials warned the sanctions against Rosneft Trading SA and its vice president, Didier Casimiro, would extend to any person or entity doing business with them.

Administration officials claimed the Rosneft subsidiary has conspired with President Nicol├ís Maduro’s regime and Petr├│leos de Venezuela (PDVSA) to circumvent U.S. sanctions.

“While state-owned oil company PDVSA and the Maduro regime are sanctioned by the United States broth net trading as a nevertheless propped up the Venezuelan oil sector and actively attempted to evade U.S. sanctions, sending a lifeline to the regime,” said a senior administration official on a call with reporters.

Surprisingly the regime in Venezuela has continued to hold on to power despite crippling sanctions.
