Amazon Requests to Depose Trump Over Pentagon Dispute

US Department of Defense

Amazon has requested to depose President Trump over a dispute with the Pentagon involving the “war cloud.”

According to The Hill:

Amazon is seeking to depose President Trump and top administration officials amid its court battle with the Pentagon over a $10 billion cloud-computing contract.

In a court filing made public on Monday, Amazon asked the U.S. Court of Federal Claims for permission to depose Trump, Defense Secretary Mark Esper and former Defense Secretary James Mattis as it works to prove that Trump improperly intervened in the contract process to keep the lucrative award away from tech behemoth.

“President Donald J. Trump has repeatedly demonstrated his willingness to use his position as President and Commander in Chief to disrupt the orderly administration of government functions, including federal procurements, to advance personal motives,” Amazon said in the court filing. “There is no question he did so here.”

Amazon is suing the Pentagon over its decision to award the cloud-computing contract, called the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI), to Microsoft, claiming Amazon was the clear front-runner before Trump publicly intervened in the process last year.

Amazon is trying to find out if President Trump influenced the DOD’s decision-making process and the ultimate decision to work with Microsoft on the project.

Nah. This is Trump, not Clinton. However, that does mean that Bezos better have his conspiracy theory hat on, because what you use against DJT is coming ‘back at you baby’. He uses the Dem Playbook, ‘Rules for Radicals’, against them. No Republican ever has. (from the Dems perspective, no Republican would ever Dare). – Gee, did you fail to see the four years of DEEP STATE WARFARE against this President, that hasn’t gone away, just hiding in plain sight). Unless, 1. you have your eyes closed and accept the mainstream media as still being fair and objective in it’s reporting (like we were told it was in the Baby Boomer period – 1946-1964) , or 2. because you don’t like his ‘style’, you’re willing to buy into the ‘One World Government’ – Democratic Socialist lies that Nationalism (America 1st) is somehow associated with Nazi, white supremacist, racist, bigoted people & thinking. So, if that’s you, I hope you lose lots of sleep. Alternatively, if you really want to preserve free speech, listen to BOTH sides of the argument. Not to just One side, AND what THEY want you to believe about those with opposing views. Become skeptical about people that want to ‘shut down the dabate’ over most anything of substance. It’s called ‘critical thinking’.

I’d interfere too if I could… Microsoft is no conservative company but Bezo’s is dirt and a liberal to beat all liberals. Screw him and the horse he rode in on.

My son in law was working for a contractor for Amazon. When Amazon bought out the contractor, they got rid of my son in law and hired a guy who was one of their lackies. They did the same for all the other people who were working for the company as well. Fired them and got all new people who were in the tank for Amazon.

I believe that, as Chief Executive Officer of the “company” — i.e., the United States of America, President Trump has the obligation to intervene in any and all transactions involving funds of the “company” — so as to protect the interests of its “stockholders,” the tax-paying citizens of the USA!

YES ! And he’s no ‘dummy’ in the matters of business.

They refuse to stop this work even though the government has officially complained. I would not ever give Amazon the opportunity to do similar damage with this important government contract. They have no integrity

Amazon as a company is working with China on a huge AI project. They refuse to stop this work even though that it has the potential for causing permanent damage to the US military and the US government. Due to recent unpatriotic events I have stopped purchasing any and all Nike products, No longer watch football, and will now most likely refrain from ordering via Amazon. Mega companies are the entitled. Already they are gifted with a tremendous amount of tax loop holes. Do we also have to watch them cry and squabble like toddlers over who gets ” what toy to play with first” and then whine and complain to “daddy” about it ??? In this case Amazon is even BLAMING DADDY ( which of course most toddlers do ) ! Good-bye Amazon. I’ll get my deliveries via each small company verses continuing to use your multi billion dollar mega company any longer.

Amazon already a monopoly undermining every family business in America now wants to depose th President because Microsoft is doing the Defense contract for a Billion less than Amazon – and Amazon never bid they were just sole sourced by Mattis.
Mattis more than likely was the one who broke any laws in just giving the contract to Amazon.
