GOP Senators: Witness Vote Likely Friday

GOP Senators have said that the vote on whether to have witnesses testify in Trump’s Senate trial will likely happen on Friday.

According to The Hill:

Republican senators on Monday said that they expect a crucial vote on whether to allow witnesses in the impeachment trial to take place on Friday.

“We’re going to get to the specific question of witnesses on Friday,” Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) told reporters.

Sen. John Thune (S.D.), the No. 2 Senate Republican, also said that the vote would “presumably” take place on Friday.

“It probably happens Friday or Saturday at the latest,” Thune added.

New information from John Bolton, which has not been confirmed has prompted more outcry for witness testimony. Mitt Romney has even expressed the need for it, but it remains unclear if Democrats can get the 51 votes necessary to call witnesses.
