Mark Meadows Will Retire From Congress

One of President Trump’s top defenders in Congres has announced he will be retiring.

According to The Hill:

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), a top ally of President Trump, announced Thursday morning that he will retire from Congress at the end of his term.

Meadows, a four-term lawmaker who represents part of western North Carolina, said in a statement that he “struggled” with leaving what he has long considered a “temporary job.”

“For everything there is a season. After prayerful consideration and discussion with family, today I’m announcing that my time serving Western North Carolina in Congress will come to a close at the end of this term,” Meadows said. “This was a decision I struggled with greatly.”

“My work with President Trump and his administration is only beginning,” Meadows added. “This President has accomplished incredible results for the country in just 3 years, and I’m fully committed to staying in the fight with him and his team to build on those successes and deliver on his promises for the years to come. I’ve always said Congress is a temporary job, but the fight to return Washington, DC to its rightful owner, We The People, has only just begun.”

Meadows has been rumored to be a candidate to join the Trump administration and this announcement will only fuel speculation.

We have the wrong party retiring, not to mention one of the best retiring. Unfortunately, we aren’t getting some of the dirt-bag democrats retiring.

I feel really bad about Mark leaving. I’m hoping our Great President has a special place for him in the WH….we hope. 🙂

Sorry to see a good guy go, but I’m sure he has a good reason for leaving. Best wishes for him what ever his future plans are. I wish some of the Democrats would leave.

We saw what happened in the House after so many Republicans retired in 2018. I think we’re already above 20. I don’t have a good feeling here.

I am plenty worried that the Dems will keep the majority in the House. What a tragedy for our nation if they do. They have fought our President every step of the way, and then some.
