Trump Gives Federal Workers Paid Leave on Christmas Eve
President Trump has decided to give Federal workers Chrismas Eve off and has also given them the day off with pay.
According to Fox Business:
President Trump signed an executive order Tuesday to make Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, a federal holiday.
AdvertisementThe president issued the same executive order, which gives federal workers a day off with pay, in 2018.
“All executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed and their employees excused from duty on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, the day before Christmas Day,” the order states.
The order adds that leadership can determine which offices and employees must stay open despite the holiday “for reasons of national security, defense, or other public need.” There are about 2 million government employees in the U.S.

President Obama did not declare Christmas Eve a holiday the last time it fell on a Tuesday in 2013.

How about upping SSI payments for the 3 million disabled who receive $771 a month. WHERE in the U.S. can a person live on $771 a month? I can’t, I get to live in GRINDING POVERTY for the rest of my life so that corrupt federal workers, corrupt politicians, illegals & refugees can live a life of luxury. I CAN’T WORK so I get PUNISHED, I do not even get dental care.
If Trump thought this would sew good will, think again.
I hear you! I, However, earn $601 AFTER they take out medicare of $134 beginning 2020. It went up but the so-called cost of living ate it up and leaving me with NO increase. I am disabled, medicines cost through the roof, and might I add when MEDICARE was created we were told we were paying in advance so when we retired we would have our insurance already paid for. Of course all our social security and medicare was thrown into the general fun and now they want to tell me I am nothing. Had I been able to invest the same amount into a fund (didn’t have 4k when I started) with the same amount I would be living easy street instead of having to be a leech off my kids. Cost of Living for Social Security should have a different cost of living increase than the general population. Still this fanatical liberals just want to get rid of the elderly.
Geez, get a life woman. Your so bitter, you don;t deserve anything.

Amen, well said!!!! I would bet if the federal agencies were managed under the principles of a a small business or a corporation, the 2 million could be easily cut in half…maybe even more.
And, why do they need a union? Once they are on the payroll, try firing them for cause. Good luck!

I’m retired military and I don’t get dental or vision or any benys and I can’t work either.
So if you’re disabled you might want to engage the SSA some more and get some more assistance.
I feel good that the POTUS declared the fed holiday. Feel good for others and you might start feeling good about yourself.
@ Cheryl…How dare you!! Even I as a senior only receive 1.8 % increase on my Social Security, and I only receive much less than $771 a month. People are notified every year, by the Social Security Administration. They SET the amount. I’m hurting as well, and have many needs, but I never deny WORKING AMERICANS paid Christmas Eve Off!
