Members of the Trump administration will meet with the family of a British teen who was hit and killed by the wife of a United States diplomat.
According to The Hill:
The family of a British teenager who was killed by the wife of a U.S. diplomat driving the wrong way will meet with members of the Trump administration on Tuesday, a White House official said.
White House officials to meet with parents of teen killed by U.S. diplomat’s wife
Tim Dunn and Charlotte Charles will meet with senior administration officials at the White House, the official said. It’s unclear if they will meet with President Trump.
The incident has led to some diplomatic tensions between the U.S. and the United Kingdom. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson last week urged the U.S. to reconsider giving diplomatic immunity to Sacoolas in the case.
The parents are in the United States to urge the Trump administration to send the wife back to the UK and to strip her of diplomatic immunity so she can face criminal charges.
