France Responds to Trump Admin’s Tariffs
The French government has responded to the Trump administration’s new tariffs on the country.
According to The Hill:
The French government Thursday announced it will respond with “retaliatory measures” to the U.S.’s new tariffs on a number of the bloc’s exports.
Advertisement“We’ve tried to lessen this commercial tension, but if they are not in the mood for conciliation, obviously Europe will fight back,” French government spokeswoman Sibeth Ndiaye told news broadcaster BFM TV, according to The Associated Press.
The statement comes in response to the Trump administration’s declaration Wednesday that it will impose 25 percent tariffs on certain European Union agricultural exports and 10 percent tariffs on European-brand aircraft starting on Oct. 18.
“For years, Europe has been providing massive subsidies to Airbus that have seriously injured the U.S. aerospace industry and our workers. Finally, after 15 years of litigation, the WTO has confirmed that the United States is entitled to impose countermeasures in response to the EU’s illegal subsidies,” U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said in a statement.
The Trump administration is using the tariffs to start negotiations with the European Union that will benefit American workers.

And anybody how we got tangled up in Vietnam? Supporting the lousy Frence who ended getting defeated at Bataille de Diên Biên Phu and getting boote4d out of the country. That entanglement caused by the French cost us over 50,000 guys.
My Dad got to France on June 6th 1944 and was Medevaced on a ship 6 months later after the Battle of the Bulge.
I got to Vietnam Aug 28th 1967 and left under my own power Aug 7th 1968 but was there for the 68 TET where we kicked the shit out of the VC and the NVA. but they didn’t let us chase them past the Cambodian border of the DMZ.
In other words, as far as I’m concerned we don’t owe the frogs a God Damn thing. It’s them that owe US!
