President Trump Urges Religious Freedom at U.N.

President Trump headlined a religious freedom panel at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday.

President Trump headlined a religious freedom event at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, emphasizing his administration’s efforts to uphold the rights of members of all faiths around the world.
AdvertisementTrump described protecting religious freedom as one of his “highest priorities” and called on other nations to halt persecution of religious communities.
“Today with one clear voice, the United States of America calls upon the nations of the world to end religious persecution,” Trump said, prompting a round of applause.
“To stop the crimes against people of faith, release prisoners of conscience, repeal laws restricting freedom of religion and belief, protect the vulnerable, the defenseless and the oppressed,” Trump continued, adding that the United States “stands with believers in every country.”
It was also announced that President Trump plans to dedicate $25 million towards protecting religious freedom.
