Trump Campaign Declared Winner on Electoral College Debate

A new report has declared the Trump campaign as the winner in the newly revived electoral college debate.

According to The Washington Free Beacon:

Washington Free Beacon editor in chief Matthew Continetti said the Trump campaign’s defense of the Electoral College wins “on the merits” against progressive calls to abolish the institution. He defended it as ensuring “our elections are not dominated by population centers” during an appearance on Fox News’s The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino Wednesday afternoon.

“The Trump campaign is going back at congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her calls for the Electoral College to be banned,” host Dana Perino said.

She then read an email from the Trump campaign responding to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D., N.Y.) recent call to abolish the Electoral College.

“Protect the Electoral College. Socialist representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently called for abolishing the EC. Remind her that this country belongs to Americans from every zip code, not just coastal elites and mega liberal donors. This is our country, not theirs,” Perino read.

It is also highlighted that the progressive Democrats want to pack the courts and end the filibuster.

IF IT AIN’T BROKE DON’T FIX IT. ELECTORAL COLLEGE HAD A PURPOSE THAT IS STILL NEEDED. PEOPLE CAN READ NOW BUT THEY DON’T THINK, SO WE STILL NEED IT. WITH ANYONE WITH MONEY CAN GET ON THE SLATE, LOOK AT THE PROBLEM WE HAVE WITH THE YOUNG HOUSE OF REPRESENTIVES FROM LAST ELECTION. THE WORD IN AMERICAN HOUSHOLDS IS WE DON’T TALK POLOTICS OR RELIGON IN THIS HOUSEHOLD. YOUNG PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THE CONSTITUTION OR HOW CONGRESS WORKS.

No, this country belongs to the hard-working, intelligent, well-educated ambitious entrepreneurs professionals, and inventors whose minds , vision and drive created our industries, our technologies, our energy, our communications, our vehicles, our machines, our buildings, etc. It does not belong to the lazy, incompetent Neanderthals who never contributed to our society other than a little bit of “sweat labor”. it has always been this way; 10% of the people contributed 90% of the progress in civilization. Let the doers and thinkers have at least an equal vote with the worthless deplorables.

You are right AOC, this country does belong to all AMERICAN citizens! The only way to ensure that our states with less dense populations have an equal vote or say is through the electoral college system. Otherwise states like California who are trying like yourself to take that away and entice illegals and 17 year olds to vote would be spreading their unsustainable nonsense across all 50 states and other territories simply due to their extreme ways of growing their population through illegals, homeless, drug addicts and other criminals they invited and even bus in to their state while people like you want to banish the electoral college to ensure that the ideals of Pelosi and other mouthpieces hoping to finally take this country over through power can do so. Be careful what you speak about as you will hurt American and it could turn on you in a flash.

How about some ancient history?? Back in ancient times (I graduated from High School in the 1940’s) it was mandatory to take (and pass) courses in U.S History and Civics (State required). As I recall, one of the DEMANDS of the smaller States (there were only 13 colonies then) resulted in the Electoral College — if not, the U.S. Constitution would not have been ratified i.e., NO U.S.A. The reason was the same then as it is now!! “Everyone wanted a piece of the pie” :^) By the way, the Bill of Rights was in the same category (these are the first 10 Amendments) .

Basically agree with you, except the U.S. would still have existed, for a while at least, under the Articles of Confederation.

That is why it is called The Constitution FOR the USA, not of USA. Without it, there is no USA!
WAKEUP about Kamala Harris: What is important to know and fight against is this fact: Kamala is usurping OFFICE by election2020 fraud, and she is not eligible for VP or POTUS because she is not a Natural Born Citizen of USA as her parents were alien student visa travelers NOT US Citizens.

Teach your children well, feed them, hope faith independence and ambition. Watch the nation as it heals itself right in front of you. Or let the left continue to brainwash the children, the future protectors of your nations constitution, so you may one day retire and still be able to enjoy your old age ! Still free! Freedom will only ever be ONE generation away from defeat, with Socialisms relentless challenge to it. TEACH YOUR CHILDREN WELL.

The Electoral College (E.C.) is an undemocratic anachronism. Each person’s vote should be equal to that of another. Yet an individual’s vote in a state such as Wyoming counts much more than a single vote in a state such as California. Conservatives like the E.C. only because it favors them. If it favored liberals instead, conservatives would want to abolish it.

you obviously missed your civics lesson,,, the USA stands for United States of America. We are not a democracy we are a republic of states with each state having an equal say in how the country is run. Without the Electoral College states with a small population would have no say in anything. The only way to achieve your wacky view would be to amend the constitution. Uhhhh It doesn’t require a rocket science degree to figure the low population states would never vote to take away their influence. With 2/3 of the states support required to pass an amendment, this one is dead in the water and will never be approved. Get over it snowflake,,, ya lost

BUT, Larry Harvey, you are forgetting that California lets ILLEGALS vote! Unconscionable! Only LEGAL citizens have the right to vote (legally)…. what California (and perhaps some others) are allowing is illegal. The illegals live in the U.S. because they are law breakers. Citizens are expected to respect the laws of our land. Why do Liberals think that breaking our laws is an “OK” thing to do?

So, in your opinion, it is okay for States with large populations and electoral votes to dictate who wins the Presidency? This system does not favor Liberal or Conservative, rather the total of all States electoral votes. Would you be happy if most States were Blue? While it is true that the present map show a massive amount of Red, it could change but know this is a fair system participation by all States, not just a few with large populations that are Liberal deciding an election.

Larry, You ought to actually read the Constitution paying close attention to Article 4 Section 4. You’re only voting for people who uphold the Constitution. If you’re doing something else, you’re doing it wrong.

You are free to disagree with the framers of the Constitution, but to change it you need more than a simplistic argument. The E.C. is just one example of where the framers decided that a pure democracy was not their intent. Failure to recognize the dangers of mob rule (which is what pure democracy amounts to) simply displays your ignorance rather than what you think is intelligent.

Anyone who thinks, “Each person’s vote should be equal to that of another,” has no clue how our country is set up. I’ll try this again: AMERICA IS NOT A DEMOCRACY; IT’S A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC. The Founders purposely set it up, so EVERY area in the country have validity. Look it up sometime.

I think those people and their reps living in the heqaviest populated states better go back to school and learn American History and Civics plus as they put down those people in the rural states better learn not to ridicule the “Hillbillies, flat landers, clot hoppers etc. etc.” WITH THEIR MOUTHS FULL! IF THEY WERE TO ABOLISH THE ELECTORIAL COLLEGE IN THE FURURE THEY WOULD FIND RATHHER QUICKLY A NEW NATION FORMED BY THE RURAL STATES . . . .THEN LET US STARVE THOSE IGNORAN ANKEES

I’m happy about DJT being the winner, but I’m sick and tired of the same old songs of the Liberal Faction. They have ZERO idea of what the Constitution says, what it is, and what it means. Especially the Squad. They should NOT even be in office. I think Bernie Sanders will fit in a class with them, actually learning something from Hillsdale College.

Now if some actually took Constitutional courses you would know that the Founders put in the Electoral College to make sure only rich white men stayed in control. Now the Governors hand picked the members of Congress not the public, where in most states you were not allowed to vote unless you were a land owner, so that meant only the well off could have any say, so the Electoral College over rode the will of th majority in the concentrated populated areas, therefore nullifying the Constitutional thing that says one man one vote, if youa re not considered a man unless you owned land then again only the well off were able to stay in power.
That has been changed by amendments that let everyone including women vote so it almost makes the Electoral College a nothing thing, which has only been used 5 times in 44 elections where the person winn ing the popular vote did not become President.
Unless we a re going to revert back to the days of limiting who can vote the Elector College should be done away with through amendment. Then Gerrymandering should also go, just cut the state up in the amount of squares allowed for representation and let it stand that way.

And there is the not so minor issue of what to do in a close election. Imagine if every State and
every district had to be scrutinized like Florida was in the Bush/Kerry election? We’d still be
counting the votes today without the electoral college.

Eugene Crocker

The electoral college was created, so that the people in areas of the country, with smaller amount of votes, would have the same value, as the more populated city locations. It made it so that the cities at the time wouldn’t run rip-shod, over the farmers and workers like loggers and menial labor, so they had the same power, as the rich politicians in the cities. There were as many corrupt politicians, in the cities as there are today, by volume. They only wanted what was best for themselves and didn’t care about the people, who lived in the less populous areas. These same type of people exist today and are called Democrats and RINO’s. They don’t care about our country, they only care about lining their pockets, with wealth. When the American youth, finally wake up and figure out, that they are not going to get anything free, it is going to cost them in their pocket books somehow, it is going to be to late for them. I remember back in the 1960’s, the hippie revolution thought they knew it all too. They were wrong just like the youth of today. It is a shame the wealth of this country, is going to depend on the youth, who thinks everyone owes them something, they haven’t earned. The colleges and universities are teaching them this and no one is correcting the professors, who haven’t worked one day of their lives. The prime example is that, if you can’t succeed in business, teach has been their motto. That is why our country has gone to hell, in a hand basket. Every professor in a college or university, should have to work in their vocation for at least twenty years, before they can teach, this would stop this crap. It would also make them more qualified to teach. Today professors think the books, they have read are good enough, that isn’t always true. It depends on who wrote the book, if it was written by someone without any experience, than it may be not correct, because it is not a proven fact. That is the problem with colleges and universities today. no experience and unqualified people teaching.

In other words, they can’t win Constitutionally, they want to cheat by registering dead people, letting illegals vote, changing a decades old system of voting. They want to increase the Supremes because we are getting a truly Constitutionalist court. The evils go on and on. We must win this election in 2020 or ALL is Lost!

The Democratic party is not the Democratic party of HST or JFK, it has evolved into the Democratic Communist Party of today and it will lie, propagandize and obstruct President Trump and his Administration in any way it can. The American people are not stupid and they will never let Communism or Socialism be part of our great country. President Trump has kept his campaign promises and will even do better when elected for 4 more years. Lets all show President Trump that we are behind him 1000% and make sure that he can continue to KAG. GO TRUMP ! MK.
