Several Democrat Senators have threatened the Supreme Court with court packing if they do not rule in their favor and impose gun control on the nation. Fox News reports:
Several high-profile Senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court in pointed terms this week that it could face a fundamental restructuring if justices do not take steps to “heal” the court in the near future.
The ominous and unusual warning was delivered as part of a brief filed Monday in a case related to a New York City gun law. Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., referenced rulings by the court’s conservative majority in claiming it is suffering from some sort of affliction which must be remedied.
“The Supreme Court is not well. And the people know it,” the brief said. “Perhaps the Court can heal itself before the public demands it be ‘restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics.'”
The last part was quoting language from a Quinnipiac University poll, in which 51 percent favored such restructuring. In the same poll, 55 percent believed the Supreme Court was “motivated by politics” more than by the law.
This is an egregious overstepping on the part of these Senators, but America and the Courts will stand tall against these Constitutional infringements.

Now I would suppose you do not know that the SCOTUS number is controlled by the Congress both houses so it as the saying goes take”an act of Congress” to change that.
What a marvelous idea. Trump should immediately appoint six more justices to the Supreme Court, bringing the total to 15. With 10 conservative originalists on the court, perhaps we can finally regain some sanity in this country. And it is a bipartisan idea! What could possibly go wrong?

Yes, the supreme court does need restructuring and we need to start by getting rid of all obama appointees and RBG. The chief justice himself doesn’t seem to understand that his job is not to make unconstitutional laws constitutional but that it’s to rule on whether a law is constitutional or not. We need people that are capable of upholding and protecting the Constitution of the United States of America that the founding fathers gave us.
I have no doubt that politics does play a part in their decision making on cases that SOTUS hears. But from my experience, not as a lawyer but as a citizen of the U.S., most of the politically motivated judgements that have made were INDEED by Democrats.

The Democrats are so corrupt they don’t even try to operate without threats, they have become extremists. The Supreme Court Justices are bound by Article VI, to interpret the US Constitution as Supreme Law. Many lower courts are already not in good standing. Much of this is due to the Democrats packing the courts with unconstitutional hacks. All judges who have strong political financial connections should be disbarred. If they violate Article VI they should be disbarred.
The last time I attended High School, (1945) there was an established procedure
for changing our constitution. The procedure was understandably difficult in its
requirements for a large majority of each duly elected State’s congressional
representatives to meet and vote to make any changes to the Constitution as written.
Why is it that the currently elected state officials referenced in this article seem

Amazing how it was OK for the Supreme Court to have a majority of liberal judges even though they made some political decisions which actually violated the constitution…Obamacare was one when they found that it was a tax and only the House has jurisdiction to pass a tax and that didn’t happen. Now we have a more balanced Court and the Democrats don’t like that everything is not going their way. Reminds me of how kids are all awarded trophies instead of those that actually earned the award because we don’t want to offend anyone…remember when you tried out for the team and made it or not based on your ability to play the game. Democrats are right–the Court is divided into two camps. One side refuses to make law, and bases its rulings on the written laws and the Constitution. The other side has a firm grasp on the America they dream of, and uses its rulings to make that America real.
That rift can’t be “healed”. We have to eradicate Justices that try to make law and advance a political agenda.
Now it seems that neither side follows the Constitution which says it must go on what the Constitution says, and the Constitution says that all rulings in the Government are suppose to be by what the majority of the population in this USA want, not what a political party wants that is why the Government was referred to by the Founders as a Democratic Republic, which was fine as long as it went along with what some wanted and then seemed to in some peoples minds changed to a Representative Republic , which was not what the founders called the new Government, where every thing was by majority rule. Washington and some of the other founders thought that political parties would be the death of the Democracy.
Slightly incorrect. The job of the Supreme Court is to rule on whether or not actions taken by petitioning groups or individuals are lawful AND Constitutional. Therefore, describing the current Supreme Court as five conservatives and four liberals is already politicizing a branch of government meant to be NON-POLITICAL. Ideally, all mine justices should be COMSTITUTIONALISTS and upholders of the rule of law and should suffer criticism from the other branches of the government only if they failed in that duty.

I guess that I have a real problem in our home. I am an independent and my wife is a democrat and we fight all the time over who is right and who is wrong. The main reason is the she hates President Trump to no end and she can’t see the forest for the trees. So when the elections come in 2020 I know that trump is going to when hands down and there will be no peace in our house for a while.
