Trump Tax Return Fight Heats Up
The Trump Tax return fight has taken a new turn: Secretary Mnuchin has refused to release the tax returns, citing that there is no legitimate reason for Congress to have them. The Washington Examiner reports:
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig have rejected another congressional inquiry into President Trump’s tax returns to a congressional committee, virtually guaranteeing the dispute will end up in court.
Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., subpoenaed the pair of Trump administration officials last week in a follow-up request for Trump’s tax information. As chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Neal can, by law, request tax information for individuals, businesses, or organizations.
AdvertisementIn a letter to Neal sent by Mnuchin on Friday afternoon, the Treasury secretary says he refuses Neal’s subpoena and that he will provide a memo from the Justice Department at some point in the future outlining the administration’s legal argument.
Mnuchin and Trump’s lawyers have argued that Neal’s request lacks a legitimate purpose, while Neal has said the information is necessary to determine whether the IRS is following its stated guidance of auditing sitting presidents, and whether that applies to Trump’s businesses.
Democrats in Congress are desperate to create scandals around President Trump, including in his personal life before public office.

The basic fact, that even the Trumpies knew know but won’t admit, is that Trump is a crook, has always been a crook, and will always be a crook. He owes Russian banks 100’s of millions of dollars, since no US bank trusts Trump with loans- 6 bankruptcies on his Casinos! He stiffs his vendors, cheats his customers (Trump University? Trump charities? Inauguration scam of $50 million?…) How in the world the US deplorables ever elected a scammer, a cheat, a con-artist, and a wannabe dictator I will never understand.. Donald Trump has always had lawyers, accountants, and others who did the taxes, handled the paperwork, and when you make statements like that, you have cast doubt on IRS of many administrations. My daughter is a long time Accountant, in Hawaii, and in USA, and she has clients of large businesses, and also private individuals. Does the accounting, and payroll, of all their offices across USA. So you have no idea of how complex and extended TRUMP Corporation is. But it is easy to throw verbal or written bombs, when not asked to back them up. For a Corporation such as TRUMP, the values, and balances change by the hour. But if you were not so cheap, you would buy his books ($15.00 with list price of $25.00, for CRIPPLED AMERICA, published in 2015 when he decided to campaign for Presidency. In last section of that book, he listed his net worth as just over 8.5 billion dollars, and he owns 91% of facilities, in other property listings. You have no grounds to say what you have, here and elsewhere.

He’s not hiding anything.The law says he doesn’t have to.Check IRS regulations.The only reason the democrats want his tax returns is so they can fabricate another negative assault on Trump.Up until now, everything they have tried hasn’t worked.
His tax returns were gone over by the IRS normally and n ow the lefty children want to see them even after Obozo had them done again when he decided to run and nothing was found so as many are saying it’s none fo their damned business and just something to keep turmoil stirred up. They and anyone else who thinks they need to see them can GTH because more to the point, I want to know how so many of the congressional thieves suddenly become millionaires on the salaries they actually make. As far as I know, there is NO law that SAYS he has to show his tax returns. He makes bookoo bucks, everybody knows that. I think they want to make sure he’s not getting money from the different businesses he divested from. Dimocrats are a bunch of idiots!
Actually I could care less about Trumps taxes, or for any President as far as that goes. I want to see the taxes of the congressional people who all come to Governement with no money and leave as multi millionaires on $174.000 /year. wouldn’t you like to see whose pocket they are in?? or the deals they do while in Congress. This little secret is bigger than any Presidents taxes!
Trump should not have to turn his tax returns over to anyone if he does not want to.
