Trump’s Big Win for Free Speech

President Trump has taken a stand for free speech on college campuses, threatening their funding if they do not follow the Constitution. Fox News reports:

President Trump on Thursday signed an executive order to promote free speech on college campuses by threatening colleges with the loss of federal research funding if they do not protect those rights.

“We’re here to take historic action to defend American students and American values,” Trump said, surrounded by conservative student activists at the signing ceremony. “They’ve been under siege.”

“Under the guise of speech codes, safe spaces and trigger warnings, these universities have tried to restrict free thought, impose total conformity and shut down the voices of great young Americans like those here today,” he said.

A senior administration official said the order directs 12 grant-making agencies to use their authority in coordination with the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to ensure institutions that receive federal research or education grants promote free speech and free inquiry. White House officials have said it will apply to more than $35 billion in grants.

It’s about time that conservatives stop funding institutions with tax dollars that trample on them.

Thank you, President Trump! Your actions for freedom of speach on our campuses should not have been necessary, but were because conservatives have been being targeted, You have courage, wisdom and you take action. No one but you would or could lead this Counry as well.

The man is a fascist as well as a moron. You probably would have cheered on Hitler’s Nazis and their propaganda. Advocates for racism and violence have no place on our capises.

And Paul Williamson just gave us example of hate speech. Knew he would come through. He always does, but I question whether he ever studied on college campus. He seems to think his comments are normal, but I doubt very much he would make them in person, face to face, with President Donald Trump.

Yet, it is okay for the left to be heard but not for the right per your views. And you had better research the word facist and the history of Hitler. You are the Hitler representative Paul and those like you and if we let people like YOU bully us silent we truly are the weak ones and the morons.

Both views should be allowed and if it is not then none should be allowed. And to date it is antifa and the left who become the thugs not the conservatives whenever the right tries to be heard but the left attacks them for even trying. And I am not talking about neo nazis or KKK types, I am talking about conservatives not associated with the fanatics of either the right or left that are the supporters of our president, just normal working people and kids. Sorry darling, your version of actions is just not true.

Maga to you Paul! But you and Big Mouth think make america great again is racist from the hat to the kids. Too stupid to even comment on. Big Mouth is the Hitler spokesperson right along with idiots like you and Antifa is the Brown Shirts and Soros is following in his hero Hitler’s footsteps by funding, busing and encouraging these thugs to attack those with another view than the lefts, dem wits, and libs, gays, trans, etc..

Last I heard it is still a free country where other views could be heard! All views even the crazy neo nazis and KKK since we listen to the ACLU, Muslims, OAC and OMAR and their nonsense, etc. without thugs involved.

These days the dem wits are the lunatics of that left wing asylum. Infanticide, open borders, no immigration law enforcement, socialism with everything for everyone paid for by the rich if one is dumb enough to believe that and get rid of the police, etc.. There is more but the point is the dem wits have left the asylum and are running amuck. You know those you are backing.

First off, its campuses….Not capises, genius.
Second. Apparently you think that the left rioting and targeting conservatives is free speech?
Sorry but it is not…….
Collages have allowed the violent left to grow in their ranks. Much like Obama allowed ISIS to grow and terrorize the middle east. There is no difference.
So its simple. Stamp down the violent left or loose federal funds…..
Every day I thank god for President Trumps leadership.

Another great job Mr. President. The only thing these scum understand is money and if you take it away from them they squeal like a stuffed pig. Actually you could go one step further — get a list of schools who have already squelched free speech on their campus and stop any grants that are supposed to go to them. Make them hurt — they have earned every little pain they feel. Most of the administrators and professors at these colleges are traitors to this country and to our Constitution.

Dear, President TRUMP,

I know you are only going to be President for just another 6 years, but I sure wish you could make that 10 years like Franklin D. Roosevelt. I’m afraid if you leave after six years America is doomed to going back to what she was before you too office….and that was a real mess for years!!! Look what you’ve done under the worst of circumstances!! Imagine what you could do if you had another 10 years instead of 6!! Only thing I fear is what’s going to happen if Pence gets into office!! He scares the $hit out of me, so please take care and if possible in 2020, find yourself another VP!! Someone like Judge Jeannine Pirro for example!!

Don’t know why you would be afraid of Mike Pence. He was governor and his people wanted him for another term, and were upset when Donald Trump named him to be Vice President. I have no fear at all, that he would be just as effective if he was next President. However, I also see Donald Trump Jr. being put forward to campaign in 2024. And I have same feeling of others in Trump Family, who support him, and are working for American Citizens. That is all I ask. I believe in legal immigration, but have no support for illegal aliens, sneaking across our border, for any reason. We have embassies and consulates in other countries and pay high salaries for them to aid and assist foreign as well as USA citizens. Why waste their talents, time, efforts, and cost, for people breaking the law.

Pence is a good man I think as someone here said he was very popular as Governor in his state. Pence as a future President would still be better than Obama ever was.

Can the President do anything about the “Celebrity Rape Survivor” scam going on in Boulder Colorado? Young college girls are encouraged by Colorado University officials and the Boulder DA to accuse their boyfriends of ‘sexual assault’ . No evidence is necessary and the judge will disallow any defense by the accused. Young innocent boys who’ve never been in trouble in there lives are treated worse than career criminals. Full academic scholarships are wiped out by the corrupt college that kicks them out of school. The DA offers draconian, North Korea type plea deals such as 5 years in jail, 15 years probation plus branded a ‘sex offender’ for the rest of their lives, condemned to a life of poverty and social scorn. If they go to trial they could be sentenced to life in prison on one conviction.
Someone’s young brilliant sons life is suddenly over on a simple, frivolous accusation where there’s no evidence of crime or injury.
No, I couldn’t believe it either.

Once again our choice for Commander and Chief does what’s right. Cut the aid to these bastions of communism. Cut them off from the trough and drive them out of business, let the so called professors be unemployed. Any little SOB that attacks another person over his hat or T shirt, ban them from every university in the US.

It wouldn’t be necessary if most colleges weren’t soc-dem devotees. It shouldn’t be necessary because even though they aren’t bound by an originalist interpretation of the 1st Amendment, the intent is clear. Additionally, “…the Supreme Court in modern times has interpreted the First Amendment as also limiting the ability of state and local governments to regulate speech…”

Seems if the Constitution repeatedly emphasizes this freedom and the 1st Amendment states it specifically and the Supreme Court has extended it to virtually everyone, a mere college should comply. And from the Executive Branch view, at the least, anyone who abridges this freedom doesn’t deserve taxpayer funding.

I do not know about now but when i went to college in the late 1950s political speech was not allowed in any form nor should it be. No political attire or speeches, yes we had young republican and young democrats but there meetings were not in public and their views were not allowed to be expressed openly on campus property. Students are there to learn what they go to college for not to become politically involved to take away from their courses.

Unfortunately some here have decided to politicize just about everything. Now if we could stop that, I believe, a lot of problems would just fade away.
