Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing a social media backlash after accusing President Trump of backing a “coup” in the socialist-led country of Venezuela even though Nicolas Maduro’s government is considered largely illegitimate by much of the international community.
“A US backed coup in Venezuela is not a solution to the dire issues they face,” Omar tweeted. “Trump’s efforts to install a far right opposition will only incite violence and further destabilize the region. We Must support Mexico, Uruguay, & the Vatican’s efforts to facilitate a peaceful dialogue.”
The U.S. and other nations on Wednesday took the step of recognizing Juan Guaido, the opposition head of the National Assembly, as the interim president of Venezuela. Maduro was elected last year in a vote widely seen as fraudulent.
Omar’s response provoked a fierce backlash on social media.

The election to the House of Representatives of Ilhan Omar demonstrates how qualifications for office have become so reckless as having a Muslim Arab woman elected by a constituency in her district that is just as eager to disregard the U.S. constitutional oath of allegiance as she, the recent Congresswoman demonstrates. She didn’t run for or had intentions of loyalty to the United States. This is what the community which elected her voted for, between her and her constituency exists a latent hate for America and Americans, and in a short period of time she has demonstrated that she will follow in the steps of Louis Farrakhan, as if this nation really needs a mimic of him in the House of Representatives. This is what comes of people endowed with the right of a vote, whose orientation is not for the United States, it is solely for Islam.

While I do not condone vulgar or foul language I certainly understand the frustration and anger behind it. What is necessary. is for a CITIZENS COMMITTEE TO SAVE THE CONSTITUTION be formed, every member ‘chip in’ and file a lawsuit in federal court to have her removed as ‘ineligible’ because of the fraudulent actions she has taken in the past to bring in ineligible people. THAT, my friends, is the only way to get some attention and some real action. I would volunteer to start the Committee if it were not for the fact that I am turning 93 years old very soon and I have a debilitating heart condition. If some responsible person will start a legitimate committee, I would be glad to ‘chip in’ to fund a lawsuit. —
