President Trump Calls On Congress To Act

CRISIS AT THE BORDER: President Trump continues to stress the need to pass legislation that will address the security and humanitarian crises on our Southern Border.

  • The United States Southern Border is overwhelmed with illegal immigration, gang violence, crime, drugs, and human trafficking.
  • President Trump has requested a modest amount of funding to address these issues while Democrats continue to resist in the name of politics.
  • We cannot keep our country safe without adequate funding for Border security, including a physical barrier and increased funding for law enforcement.

BORDER SECURITY AND HUMANITARIAN PRIORITIES: Any government funding bill must address the security and humanitarian crises on our Southern Border.  The Administration has requested additional funds—relative to the FY2019 Homeland Security funding bill that passed the Senate Appropriations Committee (Committee)—to address these priorities.

  • $5.7 billion for construction of a steel barrier on the Southern Border to fund 234 miles of new physical barrier—an increase of $4.1 billion over the Committee bill.
  • $675 million to deter and detect narcotics, weapons, and other materials that pose a threat to the United States—an increase of $631 million over the Committee bill.
    • Will provide Non-Intrusive Inspection technology for all incoming vehicle lanes of traffic at U.S. Southwest Border Land Ports of Entry, as well as necessary canine and other support.
  • $211 million to hire 750 additional Border Patrol agents in order to keep our borders safe and secure—an increase of $100 million over the Committee bill.
  • $800 million to fund enhanced medical support, transportation, consumable supplies, and additional temporary facilities necessary to ensure the well-being of those taken into custody.

IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT: Congress must fund additional immigration detention beds and law enforcement personnel.

  • $571 million for 2,000 additional Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel to enforce immigration laws, combat gang violence, catch drug smugglers and stop human traffickers.
  • $4.2 billion to support 52,000 detention beds, personnel, alternatives to detention, and transportation to address the recent surge in illegal immigration across the Southern Border—an increase of $798 million over the Committee bill.
  • At least $563 million for 75 additional Immigration judges and support staff to reduce the backlog of pending immigration cases.
    • President Trump will work with Congress to facilitate expanded in-country processing of refugee claims.

I can tell that the Congress is not going to go along with this. why not just take el Chapo’s drug money, use the millitary DOD funds and miitary to build the darn wall. We’re wasting time with a bunch of people who sit behind their walls of their homes safe and secure, with security protection and have no clue what happens in America on a daily basis. Personnaly I would like to destroy the walls of Pelosi’s “compound” and Schumer’s. They talk big but still like their protection. Additionally I’d place some MS-13 gang members and some drug dealers in and around Schumer’s neighborhood to let him know what the hell is going on in America. They have no clue. They are there for their own power trip. The pout and throw hissy fits just like my grand kids, and the stupid people of NY and CA elect them to office. Can’t you find someone better?

You are correct. The El Chapo money is drug related and so should be used to build a barrier to stop drugs from being brought into the US from Mexico. IF it just happens to stop illegal immigration as well, then it is the right thing to do.

A suggestion I have made for a long time to take all of his drug money while he is in US Custody.
Also the Treasury Department should have great interest to recapture all the unaccounted for /missing US dollars in hands of the drug cartels !

Did you hear the latests that Pablo Escobar’s son started an initiative in Colombia to raise millions of dollars to in his own words ” overthrow the US Government ?!

Dear President Trump,
Thank-you for standing firm on the border wall. I do not know who in congress will support you except for The Freedom Caucus and Rand Paul; possibly Ted Cruz. You are virtually alone for a lot of this and I marvel at your willingness to help us, the American people. This is a crisis and our country is doomed unless we finally get the wall.

The president is not a dictator. Our Constitution provides the Congress, not the president controls the purse strings. There is no immigration crisis at the border. This crisis is artificially manufactured by Trump, himself. . Many illegals are here because of overstaying their visas and many drugs are smuggled in at airports or by boat or private plane not by the southern border. Trump wants $5,700,000,000 for his ugly wall, money which could be better spent elsewhere. Individuals can climb over the wall with long enough ladders or dig under it. His wall is wasteful., inefficient and ugly.

Geeeeeeeeze, Larry, you memorized your Dumbascrap Party talking points. I ‘m sure as hell happy that you weren’t involved in fighting the Nazis or Japanese in WW II (that’s World War TWO, Larry, not World War Eleven, in case your pathetic self didn’t know), otherwise we’d be speaking Japanese or German…

Are you living in a cave??? Illegals are not only invading the U.S. from Mexico and Central America, but Central American countries are helping terrorists from the Middle East enter the U.S. illegally. You are very misinformed!

Larry Harvey you have swallowed the Democratic falsehood-filled line hook, line and sinker. YES, LARRY, THERE REALLY IS AN IMMIGRATION CRISIS AT THE BORDER. Anybody with one eye and half sense knows this…. maybe you don’t qualify. Are you purposefully blinding yourself to the truth? Why are you against the people of the U.S.A. having the protection they need? You are right about one thing.. the president is not a dictator, and President Trump is not trying to be one, either. He is trying to protect the citizens of this country.–

Trump should do everything possible within his power to protect the American People.
It is his sworn duty.
There is an immigration crises at the border due to the decades of unfilled promises to build a wall and secure the Sovereignty of this Nation.
Most illegals walk across unguarded borders.
They come because of the Jobs/Welfare magnets that need to be ended.
We also need to end visas just to get underpaid foreign workers to take our jobs.
Yes, we need more that a wall to stop the drugs, but it would be a great help.
There is no better place to spend this money. It will save hundreds of Billion$ in welfare payments, crime, and other costs. Think of it as an investment with a huge return for the taxpayer. The wall will only be ugly and inefficient to someone who wants open borders and the destruction of the United States.

I agree wholeheartedly! Why not just use all of the drug money that has been confiscated from drug lords and other criminals? Unless of course the politicians were looking to line their own pockets with that money!
BUILD THE WALL!!!

“We want smart, effective border security” Schumer said. “That’s not a wall.”
I guess his idea of smart effective border security is just leaving it all open.

Just for the sake of argument. If the wall gets built, then what? Just how effective will it be? There are many who seem to think that building the wall will be the end of it. The only thing that will accomplish is a false sense of security. It may discourage many from trying to get through. It will not be an end all and, in itself, will not be a be a deterrent to those with the daring to attempt to breach it.

Every inch of it will have to be monitored. That will cost millions. It will take all types of surveillance equipment and a lot of it. The wall will need regular armed patrols and constant probes to insure that no one is getting through by other means like tunneling. On top of all that will be periodic maintenance. I can’t help but wonder what the reaction would be, by those who are all for the wall now, when they see all that added to their taxes? Just my two cents.

“Walls and other fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man. If mountains and oceans can be overcome, anything made by man can be overcome.” George S. Patton Jr.

Executive Order 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision. President Trump should order unemployed men and women to construct the wall across our southern border and of course, pay them a fair price for their labor. He should also order our Best and Bravest soldiers to work on the construction of the wall as well as the Corps of Engineers. The money required to pay for supplies and equipment can be obtained by eliminating the federal dept of indoctrination (used to be education), the c.i.a., the e.p.a. and f.d.a. and the money allocated to those departments used to purchase whatever is needed to complete the construction of wall along the entire southern border. Insofar as the “non essential” government programs is concerned, privatize them all. We, the American taxpayers, should not have to pay for “non essential” government programs.

Members in Congress like Pelosi, Schumer and Waters should not be allowed to live behind closed walls or have taxpayers funds used for their security guards. They need kicked out into the real world. All they are is a group of leeches stealing taxpayers money for their personal protection and don’t think everyday United States peoples deserve protection.
