President Trump Hits Back At GM

President Trump has taken a swipe at General Motors for its plan to shut down many plants and lay off workers. CNBC reports:

President Donald Trump will consider cutting all subsidies to General Motors after the company announced plans to slash productions at several American plants, he said Tuesday.

“We are now looking at cutting all @GM subsidies, including…. for electric cars,” the president wrote in a pair of tweets.

The automaker’s shares fell following the tweet and were down nearly 3 percent on Tuesday afternoon. The company did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request to comment.

The tweet escalates the president’s public threats against GM as he pushes the company to keep the facilities in Ohio, Michigan and Maryland open. Trump has repeatedly pressured American companies who consider shutting down facilities or moving operations overseas after he pledged to revive U.S. manufacturing.

Cutting subsidies to corporations exporting American jobs should be a priority for an “America First” president.

How many Millions of our hard earned money did obama and his Socialist Regime give to GM to bail them out and now after they leave the overseas operations up at full speed and cut the jobs of Americans

As usual GM,Ford & Chrysler got it wrong. You dummies priced yourselves out of the market. We need transportation on the cheap. If a customer wants all the goodies charge them for it. Why can’t I get just transportation? What about people who want to get from one location to another?
GM will see a backlash big time as it should!! Why not close plants in other countries and assign them to American Plants? GM will experience the wrath of Trump.

President Trump is doing what other presidents should have done years ago, he is putting America first and he never lets his mouth write a check his ass can’t cash. I’m surprised at GM for their thinking of closing their USA based plants, instead of some of their Plants based outside the USA. GM shows absolutely no loyalty to our country and its people and we will remember that the next time we purchase an automobile or anything else they manufacture. If they go through with what they are planning, look for an entire boycott of GM manufactured goods. The American people have had it with those overpaid disloyal executives. GO TRUMP ! Sincerely, Martin Korab

Wonder what the tariffs will be when they import the vehicle back to the US? Can’t be good. I would suggest: 1st thing, fire the overpaid C.E.O.! Then slow activities that are outsourced down to just get by while you ramp up production and upgrading of your American facilities. Then go American all the way with more plants here with possible foreign support of parts and support accessories. America will love it!

GM should have been left to BANKRUPTCY … but no … we needed Government Motors !

Now they got their “LOAN” and I do not believe they ever paid it all back … they want to SCREW their workforce !

GM should not receive a red cent from the taxpayers for ANYTHING !

The citizens of the USA should boycott GM !

GM ‘GOVERNMENT MOTORS’ was subsidized by Obama because he wanted to change from carbon fuel driven vehicles to electric without going through the normal process of research and development, the natural process. Kind of like what Hillary told West Virginia about shutting down their coal mines because we want to protect the environment. As if either had the right to interfere in changing how the world had operated under private enterprise. And we saw how that ended for her. But when the government dictates to private enterprise how they must operate, we can see now exactly what can happen, there still is the basic law of ‘supply and demand’. If there is no demand, all the supply becomes unnecessary, no matter what the government wants. Chuck

I remember when Obama bailed out GM . They were supposed to pay the money back. But guess what- after a little while they said they weren’t going to pay it back and instead built a plant I heard in Japan. But that was probably wrong, it was probably China, although I wouldn’t be surprised. That left a bad taste in my mouth at how they screwed us on that deal. Ford never asked for a bail out. They took care of themselves. One reason given is that sales of the Cruz haven’t been good. That’s their own fault for not keeping up with the trend going to SUV’s and trucks. Cruz is a nice little car, my daughter has one, but they’re small. Their people must have had blinders on and not noticed what people were gravitating to?

ANY company that has factories in foreign countries should receive NO subsidies from the government and the ONLY companies who should receive subsidies are those who are doing something to make America better; such as producing higher efficiency gas engines, thereby lowering pollution and saving drivers money!

My husband and I are both former Cadillac owners; however, since the OWEbama bailout, Cadillacs no longer reside at our home. They should have been left to fold; perhaps they would have restructured then like a Phoenix rising from the ashes and would not have ruined so many Christmases and lives now. How about management including Mary donate this past year’s income back to the company to preserve those 14,000 jobs!

As people buy Ford trucks and Toyota cars, auto workers will find jobs with them. General Motors should change its name to Liberal Motors.

Hey GM good luck selling to other countries because your name is mud here. Do you really think you will get top dollar from those other countries? You can’t bite the hand that feeds you and get away with it.
