America Deals a Blow to Iran
Secretary Pompeo has terminated a treaty with Iran dating to before it became a Islamic state. The Daily Caller reports:
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Wednesday the U.S. will terminate a 63-year-old treaty with Iran, hours after a top United Nations court ruled in favor of Tehran in a lawsuit challenging U.S. sanctions.
Pompeo said the abrogation of the 1955 Treaty of Amity was “39 years overdue,” referring to the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran that resulted in the overthrow of the U.S.-friendly shah.
AdvertisementUntil Pompeo’s announcement, the Treaty of Amity had remained in force even though Washington and Tehran have not had normal diplomatic relations since 1980.
The move follows a ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that ordered Washington to lift any sanctions on Iran affecting humanitarian exports. Iran had sued the U.S. in July, arguing the renewal of sanctions that had been lifted as part of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal violated the 1955 treaty.
This is a step towards more sanctions against the terrorist regime.

you are so so right it is impossible to understand why there is not na ;loud and widespread call for withdrawing funding above the level of overall average of all other member country funding. I say this only because I think leaving membership completely is too drastic; as some of what they do is reasonable.

The UN needs to be moved outside the United States of America and we, the United States of American, need to resign our membership in the UN. Currently, the various UN departments, agencies, counsels vote against USA interests more than 90% of the time. The UN is our enemy and we should treat them as such. I recommend that the UN be relocated to the mid-east, that the USA resign its membership and that the US withholds all monitary support. The money saved should be transferred to complete President Trumps boarder wall between the USA and Mexico.

We don’t need the UN. But they need us. They need our financial and protective support. We are suppose to be the greatest country; we must be because so many people want to come here and stay. Also they all watch to see what we are doing before they make a move. So, considering all this why do we need a court made up of other countries that can tell us what we must do or not do involving a country that is an enemy to all? Instead of joining with us toward the goal of eradicating terrorism they work against us. Is that the kind of “club” we want to be in? The only reason I can find is that they are afraid that Iran will come after them if they stand with us.
