Trump Announces Big NAFTA Changes
President Trump has announced a new free trade agreement with Mexico, which will be revealed in the following days. Fox News reports:
President Trump on Monday said he plans to terminate the existing North American Free Trade Agreement, as he announced a new agreement between the United States and Mexico that he described as “one of the largest trade deals ever made.”
“I’ll be terminating the existing deal and going into this deal,” the president said in the Oval Office, calling it a “big day for trade.”
But the president said Monday “we’ll see” if Canada can still be part of the trade pact, leaving open the possibility of separate agreements.
“We are starting negotiations with Canada pretty much immediately,” Trump said.
Trump campaigned on NAFTA being “unfair”, and this new trade deal could end up renewing American industrialization and grow the Mexican economy as well.

I do have a bone to pick with the Prez, though. – Why is he trying to kill the retired skilled tradesmen? With all the jobs all over the place and the kiddies that were supposed to replace us being totally worthless we are getting called every day with offers we can’t refuse and are getting worked to death. In fact I never worked so hard, since I retired. – 2 electrical contractors and a bunch of former clients from my old Millwright business are hounding the hell of me to come to work and I’ll be 72 the day after Christmas (if I live) OK,,,MAGA, but how ’bout giving the old timers a break and slowing things down a bit. We have a ton of unfilled good paying jobs with no one to do them already.
If they would start trade schools for high schoolers to train in skilled labor, we wouldn’t have this problem! They would be prepared to enter the job market and taught to be grateful for the job and SHOW UP! I’m so sorry you are overworked, but on the other hand, glad that the economy is booming!!!
Trade Schools are essential for a strong economy. Not everyone wants to go to college nor should every one go . If you need qualified people today outside of computer steam you will have a hard time finding someone
Have full confidence in your trade arrangements and negotiations! Never did accept NAFTA as a good thing. Time to re balance things everywhere. Don’t think to many countries really appreciated our lopsided agreements. Time to send a wake-up as to who was helping who. Thank you Mr Trump. God bless
