By 1600 Staff

President Trump will pardon conservative filmmaker and icon Dinesh D’Souza, according to Fox News. Dinesh D’Souza was convicted in 2012 of giving  an illegal campaign contribution to college friend Wendy Long, who was running for U.S. Senate.

The president is also considering pardoning Martha Stewart, and commuting the sentence of former governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois. The president recently pardoned Scooter Libby, a Bush Administration official convicted of process crimes; he also posthumously pardoned Jack Johnson, a boxing legend convicted of a crime largely because of his race in the Jim Crow era.

Blagojevich was convicted of corruption for attempting to sell the Senate seat of President Barack Obama. Matha Stewart was convicted of obstruction of justice and securities fraud, and was pursued by disgraced former FBI Director James Comey.
