President Trump wrote a special message, originally published in USA Today this tax day.
“This is the last year Americans will fill out outdated, complicated tax forms. In the years ahead, because I signed one of the largest tax cuts in history and the most sweeping tax reform in a generation, many Americans will complete their taxes on a simple, single sheet of paper. Remarkably, Congress had to pass this critical legislation without a single Democrat’s vote.
A typical family of four earning $73,000 a year can expect to see an income tax cut of more than $2,000 when they file their tax return in 2019 — slashing their income tax bill in half. The standard deduction has been nearly doubled, so now twice as much income is earned tax-free. The tax law also doubled the child tax credit and lowers rates across the board for hardworking families. I made sure the IRS acted quickly to deliver some of the benefits of this tax cut legislation to Americans. As a result, Americans began to see bigger paychecks as early as February.

We have already created 3 million jobs since the election — including more than 290,000 new jobs in manufacturing and more than 75,000 in mining and logging jobs. On the announcement of my signing this historic tax reform, companies immediately started announcing thousands of new jobs and making enormous investments in their workers. Unemployment claims have reached a 44-year low. After years of wage stagnation, real wages are rising.

This year also marks the last time Americans will have to contend with Obamacare’s cruel individual mandate because our tax law repealed it. These penalties largely hit lower-income and middle-class Americans — 80% of the penalties were paid by families making less than $50,000 per year.”

I’m glad that the new tax reform is helping someone. My Accountant tells me that I am loosing 16% of my deductions to comply with the new tax code. This means more taxes for me.
The silent majority is sick and tired of Muellers circus of lies and liars to distract from the Democrats crimes. Please get a STOP to this witch hunt. I just paid the bigest tax bill of my life. And it was caused by Obama Care.
We paid less taxes than ever this year, and my tax advisor showed me how it would continue to come down. We are retired, living on social security that we paid in, and my husband’s retirement. We are not paying huge healthcare premiums and are not being taxed so much. We still have money in tax deferred accounts.
Thank you Mr. President! After years of being neglected, insulted, and taxed endlessly you have brought some relief! No matter how much the Progressive’s wish to tax us, it will never be enough and they will NEVER be satisfied. Thank you for keeping your promise, and for hanging in there no matter how despicable the Left in conjunction with their propoganda arm known as the MSM attack you. We are with you.
I didn’t get the advantage this year but will next year with the double standard deduction. I am retired senior. So looking forward to it.
So happy for families who work hard to provide for them. We need to make mid-terms a Republican landslide or the Dems will roll back the cuts before we get the full advantage of them in 2019. Please get out and vote and tell others to vote . We must keep the majority and increase it or all the good will be dismantled before our very eyes. Don’t go to sleep people!
