BUILDING STRONGER BORDERS: President Donald J. Trump is visiting prototypes for the border wall designed to help secure our Southwest border.
- President Trump is visiting the eight Southwest border wall prototypes located near San Diego, California.
- The President signed Executive Order 13767 on Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements shortly after taking office. The order called for the planning, design, and construction of a border wall.
- Construction of the eight border wall prototypes was completed in late October 2017.
- The border wall prototypes each stand approximately 30 feet high; four were constructed with concrete and four were constructed with other materials.
- A period of testing and evaluation began following the completion of construction.
- During the period of testing and evaluation, the prototypes were assessed on a range of characteristics including:
- Anti-breaching capabilities
- Anti-climbing capabilities,
- Impedance and denial of traffic, and
- Border Patrol agent safety.
WALLS WORK: Physical barriers such as walls are a proven, effective means of securing our Southwest border.
- For more than 30 years, physical barriers have proven to provide a significant boost to border security, especially when complemented by the right combination of technology and personnel.
- A case study by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) showed the effectiveness of physical barriers in the Yuma Sector along the border in Arizona.
- In 2005, the Yuma Sector was inundated with illegal border crossings and drug smuggling.
- There were 138,438 illegal alien apprehensions in the Yuma Sector during fiscal year (FY) 2005.
- From 2006 to 2007, the Yuma Sector added 23 miles of primary pedestrian wall and added more than 600 additional agents, along with other security infrastructure.
- After implementing these security measures, the Yuma Sector experienced an 82 percent decrease in illegal entries and illegal drug seizures jumped by more than 8,000 percent.
- When coupled with technology and agents, physical barriers such as walls provide a comprehensive system that further enhances border security.
- In 2005, the Yuma Sector was inundated with illegal border crossings and drug smuggling.
BORDER SECURITY NEEDS: More resources are needed to secure our borders and deter illegal immigration.
- Despite dedicated efforts by President Trump’s Administration, more resources are needed to fully secure our Southwest border.
- In May 2017, the United States began seeing a month-to-month increase in Southwest border apprehensions.
- During FY 2017, CBP reported 310,531 apprehensions by Border Patrol agents.
- More than 140,000 arrests and more than 225,000 removals were made by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in FY 2017.
- Securing our borders is key to cutting off the flow of illegal drugs into our country, as most attempts to smuggle illicit contraband into the United States occur along the Southwest border.
- In FY 2017, Border Patrol seized 9,346 pounds of cocaine, 953 pounds of heroin, 861,231 pounds of marijuana, and 10,328 pounds of methamphetamine.
- Border Patrol seizures of fentanyl in FY 2018, 221 pounds, have already exceed the total for all of FY 2017, 181 pounds.
- Two milligrams of fentanyl is a lethal dose, meaning the 221 pounds seized this fiscal year through February is enough to kill more than 50 million Americans.
- Strengthening our borders will help protect our communities from threats such as MS-13 and other transnational gangs.
- Border Patrol agents arrested 536 gang-affiliated illegal aliens in FY 2017, more than 40 percent of whom were affiliated with MS-13.
- In FY 2017, ICE Homeland Security Investigations made 4,818 criminal arrests related to gang activity, including nearly 800 MS-13 gang members.
- There are more gang-affiliated aliens that need to be arrested, detained, and removed from our country.
A FRAMEWORK FOR SECURING OUR BORDERS: President Trump has released an immigration framework which provides the tools needed to secure our borders.
- In January, President Trump released an immigration framework for policies that would provide the resources required to secure our borders and to end catch and release.
- President Trump’s framework includes a $25 billion fund for the border wall system, ports of entry and exit, and Northern border improvements.
- President Trump’s framework also called on the Congress to close the legal loopholes that prevent us from quickly removing criminal aliens.
- Public polling shows that the American public understands our current border security is inadequate and supports efforts to improve it.
- A Harvard-Harris poll from January showed that 61 percent of those polled believe our current border security is inadequate.
- 54 percent of those polled by Harvard-Harris support building a combination of physical and electronic barriers along our Southwest border.

Thanks to President Trump for trying to secure our borders and stop illegal aliens coming into this country and deporting them. The longer the federal government waits to crack down on cities and states that don’t follow federal law the worse it’s going to get and harder to correct. Corrective action MUST be taken now not later and the wall MUST be built soonest possible. I just wish my ex-Senator Sessions who is now is Head of the Justice Department would get off his tail and start doing something or either the President should replace Sessions and that liberal second in command of the DOJ>

If the people do not get out and vote for conservatives none of this will mean anything. The dumocrats will have a majority and open the borders and continue with their crooked ways. We lost another election last night in PA. What the hell are people thinking? Every vote for a Conservative is important.

I have not heard, at least in months, the danger posed by other transnationals, such as those people from Africa, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and many other “sketchy” locales. These people can be awfully difficult to check on (if not impossible) so Democrats (and some Rinos) are playing with Fire in their quest for sympathetic votes. Playing with the security of our country in order to profit through political gains is despicable.

On the other hand it’s laughable. If they had selected almost anybody but Hillary to be their candidate, they might have had a “reasonable” change.

I was wondering about the voting in Pa. but then again I read that over 100,000 illegals are registered so perhaps they helped the “cause”!!! If only conservatives were truly that and stuck to their principles!!!! I think each and every member of Congress should be required to watch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington every single year!!!! I actually watched it last week because it does show there “were” those that did the right thing!!!

Gentlemen: I refer to The Judicial Watch Verdict Article, Uncovered, “Illegal Aliens Quietly Being Relocated Throughout U.S. On Commercial Flights”, in the JW March 2018 Volume 24 /Issue 3. After more than one year, since President Trump took office, Home-Land Security Deep State Obama incumbent managers are apparently still continuing to move illegals throughout the U.S. at “tax payer’s expense” under the Obama-era policy, the “Catch and Release” program. Why?
I’d like to know how illegals can be registered to vote! If this took place in PA, then shame on them. Trump has been working so hard to open their coal mines and steel mills. Is this the thanks he gets?

I think we should have a re-count of the votes for Pa. I had recently read that 100,000 illegal immigrants had voted in the Presidential election because there was a “box” on the drivers license paperwork, that asked if you wanted to vote, to check the box and they did.

President Trump is good for this country, even if he has his flaws, then again we all do. He is for this country, not the Democrats who wants to let everybody come in, not going through the proper channels, other countries inforce their immigration laws

President Trump, even here in California, we are many and we support your agenda in all areas, especially the border wall. I have an idea, lets fund part of it with American volunteer dollars. Lets fund part of it with bricks with American family names built into the wall. $100 a brick. This is done for ball parks, lets do it for something far more important.

I would like to see an investigation into the voting in Pennsylvania for the vacant Representative seat. There had to be many illegals voting in this election because the President carried this district by 20 points in 2016 election. Plus, the economy is booming now and most people benefited by the President’s tax cuts. Something stinks and we must be to the bottom of it.
And the smell is floating all over the USA!
I really think a few other things need to be done. I agree with everything the President has done, now we need a wee bit more. Limit the time everyone can spend in office to 8 years. Limit supreme court to 10 years. Make lobbying a crime or at least if someone who held office can’t lobby for 10 years and make it a crime if they do. When bills are voted on there can only be the one original bill on it, no pork. I think the congress and senate raises should be tied to the same things social security is. I think anyone in office should be barred from taking any PAID speaking engagements. I think just these few things will make a world of difference. Go Trump. A secure border is good, we put locks on our doors do we not?

Build the Wall! We need all the boarder protection and security we can get. A comprehensive boarder security program will greatly reduce drug traffic and other illegal activity across the boarder. It will be a hindrance to potential terrorists who in the past have used our border as a gateway into the United States. It will also curtail the number of foreign nationals invading us from across the boarder. It will not do anything about those already in the country. But other steps can be taken to identify and repatriate those that commit other acts of violence against our citizens.
Yes, thank you President Trump. I will support your efforts to secure our country and it’s borders anyway possible. I also appreciate your placing value on the lives of us law abiding citizens.

Continue what you are doing! I’m sick and tired of Illegals, and press 8 for Spanish when phoning a business. “Our Mexicans” are ours, and our people, Mexico’s aren’t. Same holds true for other country’s Illegals in US, slopping at trough of America’s taxpayers. PA Republicans need to get on the ball for November. There is going to be some redistricting. So this March election can be overcome if they get out and vote in Nov. Review voting procedures now, and make corrections. Absolutely mandatory that all votes can be counted.

Build that wall and man it with ARMED troops in sufficient numbers with orders to shoot when necessary to control the invasion or trouble that comes up. We have been at their whimsy too long. It’s time to take control of the illegals who seek to take our homeland from us. It’s long overdue time to use deadly force if or when necessary. Why should we think that we are obligated to justify our own actions of self-defense in our own home when we are threatened with militant action by invaders?
