President Trump Hosts NRA At White House, Reaffirms Commitment To Second Amendment

President Trump spoke to a gathering of activists last week at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where he reaffirmed his commitment to the Second Amendment, and hardening schools against violent situations. Second Amendment advocates have watched the President closely in recent days to see what reforms would be pursued by the administration. President Trump hosted representatives at the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Thursday night, and had a positive meeting with them on the matter.

Chris Cox, a top man at the NRA dined at the White House on Thursday. The tweet signals that any pending proposals satisfies the concerns the NRA has with maintaining the sanctity of the Second Amendment. The President echoed Cox’s sentiments on Twitter.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders expounded upon the President’s remarks, which have been subject to misinterpretation in recent days. “On universal background checks, universal means something different to a lot of people. He certainly wants to focus and improve on the background check system.”
Sanders also said Trump’s position on raising the minimum age saying “conceptually, he still supports raising the age to 21. But he also knows there’s not a lot of broad support for that. But that’s something he would support. I think he thinks it would probably have more potential in the states than it would at the federal level”. The President remains committed to protecting the Second Amendment, and passing laws that make our schools safer.

Gun control is not the answer to our national dilemma of indifference to human life. Guns do not pull their own triggers. Let us examine our national indifference to life, beginning with abortion which takes millions of innocent human lives in the womb. Then let us examine our culture which seems to promote violence by way of movies, advertising, video games, etc. Let us examine the disintegration of families as seen in divorce, same sex marriage, single parents, etc. God has been taken out of schools;prayer is not tolerated. There are many issues which take precedence over guns.

The Second amendment is very clear regarding gun ownership. Although Automatic guns are not necessary for protecting one’s property. Bump Stocks is one example that can be made illegal.

If we knew what we would be confronted with or when it would happen, we could simply rent the right weapon for the occasion, unfortunately we don’t; so therefore we must defend our right to keep and bear ANY firearm that WE deem appropriate!

To change the constitution in anyway there has to be a state convention nothing less to vote on the change. No president can make an addition or subtraction. All citizens can own guns but illegals are not protected under this constitution and need to,know this (we need to realize this.) This also means young people who are citizens have that right whether a gun is sold to them or not. Responsibility for this right needs to be taught and understood as the right to citizenship. Where have our schools been the last 50 years in teaching kids on this? The church? Society? How can citizens tell a family with a handicap person ignore this family and their pleas? Everyday is hard and it is never ending.wake up America these citizens are as or more important than immigrant to import. Take care of our own.
I am glad I don’t own a gun of any kind, but I sure as hell know how to shoot one. I believe people have a right to have them, just don’t give me one. Amen!
