MEMBERS OF CONGRESS

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY): “I thought my friends across the aisle would jump at this opportunity to fulfill what they say is their top priority. But they just could not take ‘yes’ for an answer. They turned away from a golden opportunity to solve this issue. They decided they’d rather come away empty handed, with no resolution whatsoever for the 1.8 million individuals they say they are championing, than accept a reasonable compromise with the president.”

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX): “On Tuesday the Majority Leader tried twice to open the debate and start voting, but both times there were objections heard by our Democratic colleagues. This despite their repeated promises over the years to address the DACA issue once and for all.”

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA): “Today is a sad day for many Americans and for many dreamers who would have had a rare pathway to citizenship. We had the opportunity to pass a bill that would have provided legal certainty for 1.8 million individuals. It would have secured the border and focused enforcement on the very worst criminals, like sex offenders, human rights violators and war criminals. And importantly, it had the President’s support and could have actually become law…. It’s unfortunate that so many of my colleagues, when given the chance to finally give citizenship to DACA kids, refused to do so.”

Sen. John Boozman (R-AR): “President Trump presented a thoughtful framework to accomplish these shared goals and Senator Grassley’s amendment, which I supported, turned that framework into legislation that could become law. Given our mutual goals, it should have passed the Senate in a bipartisan manner. I am disappointed that it did not.”

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR): “What this debate has shown is just how unserious the Democrats are about illegal immigration. If they were serious, they wouldn’t have shut down the government over DACA only to reject the one bill, endorsed by the president, that would’ve given DACA recipients the legal certainty they need. And they wouldn’t have introduced such a reckless proposal that had zero chance of becoming law. There’s broad agreement about how to solve this problem, but we won’t succeed unless the Democrats stop this incessant virtue-signaling and start negotiating in good faith.”

Sen. David Perdue (R-GA): “Senate Democrats have shown their true colors. First, they shut down the government over DACA. Today, they had an opportunity to vote to provide certainty for 1.8 million DACA recipients and they voted no. Senate Democrats said they wanted a bipartisan solution, but really they don’t. Senate Democrats said they want to secure our border, but really they don’t. Today, Senate Democrats crushed the dreams of many people who were counting on them to deliver and showed they are quite happy to have an immigration system that does not serve the American people or protect our national security.”

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY): “In case you didn’t think Congress was absurd before, Senate Democrats are now filibustering the open immigration debate they asked for, and are refusing to put their bill on the floor.”

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA): “I voted for Senator Grassley’s measure based on President Trump’s proposal. We must stop human trafficking, money laundering and drug trafficking. This amendment provided real border security and discouraged future human trafficking. As a compromise, it also addressed Democrats’ concerns. This was the only bill that could become law. If Democrats truly wished to solve immigration issues, they should have supported this bill.”

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT): “It is disappointing that a minority of the Senate blocked my bipartisan proposal to end sanctuary cities and protect the safety and security of America.”

Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND): “I voted against the proposal put forward by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer because the Department of Homeland Security said it would not secure the border, nor did it end the diversity lottery system or adequately address chain migration.”

Sen. James Lankford (R-OK): “Most of what was proposed by the President and Senate Republicans has passed the Senate multiple times over the past fifteen years, but not today. It’s disappointing that Democrats would not come to the table simply because President Trump supported it. Immigration reform is complicated and emotional, but it is essential that we keep working until we reach a good faith solution for the future of all Americans.”

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA): “I am disappointed that the Senate was unable to reach an agreement today on immigration policy…. It was also deeply troubling that a minority of Senators blocked consideration of my common-sense bipartisan amendment designed to end dangerous sanctuary city policies.”

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC): “I have said from the beginning that we must secure the border and keep our nation safer, reform our legal immigration system, and find a permanent, compassionate solution for DACA recipients. Today, I voted for measures that would accomplish these things, namely the Secure and Succeed Act and legislation to stop sanctuary cities, and against measures that do not. Democrats continue to try and use Dreamers as a political tool, and we continue working to find a solution.”

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN): “Trump has shown presidential leadership on immigration. Senate Democrats should take my fellow Tennessean – Howard Baker’s – advice that ‘the other fellow might be right,’ and the other fellow in this case might be named President Trump.”

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV): “I share the President’s commitment to border security. That’s why I voted for his plan. That’s why I fought to ensure the $25 billion he requested for border security was included in the bipartisan deal. That’s why I opposed the Democratic proposal that did not provide a single penny for border security.”

Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI): “Sad to see that the US Senate could not find any path forward on DACA and immigration reform today. Of interest, Sen Stabenow voted to defund ‘Sanctuary Cities’.

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL): “Senate Democrats blocked a vote on #SanctuaryCities. Only further proving that they care more about illegals than actual Americans.”
Fox Business’ Trish Regan: “President [Trump] is extending a massive olive branch on immigration, but the Democrats don’t want to make a deal! Maybe they don’t want Republicans to get the credit for giving these dreamers a path to citizenship!”

Very sad to continually hearing that “the Democrats failed to” and why, with both House and Senate control can’t Republicans jam many of these things down their throats?

Hey folks, nothing new here. The democrats ARE NOT INTERESTED in helping the dreamers. After their last few “at bats”, the demo’s have taken themselves out of the game — the DACA folks know who their friends are. Now, the only option for the democrats is an OPEN BORDER so they can attract ‘welfare votes’ from Mexico — that’s a DOUBLE illegal move !!

The solution is simple. The Republican leadership has to propose a similar piece of legislation. Trump has to feign that he’s violently opposed to it. The Democrats will then support it and the President will sign it much to the surprise of the Leftist Never Trrumpers.

I am deeply troubled by how the Democratic Party is intenentionally trying to cause problems just because they do not like our president. They don’t even care what’s best for the people they represent and those are the same people who elected our president and theirs. I just wish they could get passed their prejudices of President Trump and get back to work for their true Boss. The citizens of the United States of America!

The absolute FAILURE of Democrat’s to EVER ADDRESS the ILLEGAL ALIENS ISSUE is to either; kick the can down another DECADE -OR- continue to PRETEND the ILLEGAL ALIENS issue DOES’N’T exist at all.
Yeah, I’m convinced the demorat’s don’t WANT the issue to exist simply by continuing to IGNORE THE ISSUE SO THAT IT “just goes away”!!!

It only proves that the dems are not interested in the DACA program but want an all out demand to have unlimited illegals entering this Country. This is to the detriment of all American citizen’s Interests.

Hate to say this, but dreamers (DACAs) are not legal citizens, they crossed illegally when their parents crossed illegally. Send them all back. The Immigration says 75% of these DACAs have criminal records so why should we keep them here just because they are holding down an American citizen’s job. Gees, get real. Send these citizens of foreign countries back with their parents who are citizens of a foreign country thus making the kids citizens of their parents foreign country. DACA itself is illegal thus it should be killed as an illegal law of Obamas.

The Democrats won’t vote on ANYTHING president Trump wants. They complain that the tax bill will cost the country billions, yet they want American citizens to spend over $130 Billion per year supporting ILLEGAL immigrants. They won’t give Dreamers a chance at citizenship, but they want sanctuary cities so that criminals can stay in the US and the tax payers continue to support them. I am a lifetime Democrat, but I for one am disgusted at the actions of the Democratic Party. For the last year, they should be called the Obstructionist Party. I voted for President Trump and will continue to support him. I will NEVER vote Democratic again!

If you believe in America and the Constitution there is no way you can agree with the democrat Party’s position that their leaders are now taking. It only proves that they are catering to the fringe part of their party. The average member of their Party should be apposed to this ridiculous position. You need to go to the country where your parents brought you from and make a life there. If serious about citizenship here in The United States OF AMERICA. GO THROUGH THE PROCESS.

They would rather turn their backs on 1.8 million “dreamers” than compromise and see that our border was secured so that we would not face this again in a few years. That is the only reason they won’t vote for any of these proposals (immigration and infrastructure) is nothing but jealousy, hate of Trump because he won and they lost. How very very immature. Their min objective is to get their own way……..pure hate and jealousy. For people to suppose to be intelligent this is a joke……..they are making fools of themselves. They have not made a good decision by themselves in so long they don’t know how to make a good one that would help this country and it’s people. They ruined our health care for our country by lying…….. shoving it down the peoples throats ………which people was against it. Democrats were the only ones who voted it in……….NO ONE ELSE.

And so it continues. Obozo violated Article, section 8 of the US constitution with his daca foolishness. Trump adhered to the US Constitution when he decided to end it. I wish he had simply said it is over, done, no more. But he did give the US Congress a window of opportunity to show compassion for the so called dreamers, which I disagree with. Politically speaking, it gave the republicans an opportunity to “work across the aisle” with the communist/socialist party. There was an opportunity for both parties to score some points with their supporters. The republicans seized the opportunity, the communist/socialist party refused to come to the table and negotiate with any seriousness. As usual. All or nothing for those pigs. They had an opportunity to help those they claim they want to help, and to actually follow Constitutional law in the process of dealing with a major national security issue. They refused. I believe it is because they do not want to solve the issue, they want to have it to campaign on for years to come. Hopefully, all affected will see clearly who they really are.

There’s nothing to debate or vote on, illegal is illegal regardless of how or when ALL illegals came to the U.S. ALL should be deported and if any wish to come back, apply through the proper channel. No amnesty, no DACA, or no other special treatment. The same should apply to ALL refugees in our country as I’m sure there is some kind of time limit on their status and as an example, there are tens of thousands of “refugees” from El Salvadore who have been here since the earth quakes there in 2001.
Since the Immigration Act of 1965, we have been overrun with any and all who wish to come to the U.S. when the quota was raised from 250,000 per year to ONE MILLION per year and green cards have been handed out like advertising handbills on sale day at the mall.

It’s time to close the garage door and only leave the pet door open, that’s the only way to control who comes in.

Really, give me a break. The turn coat Rino’s are just as much at fault here as the democrat’s. Also, we wouldn’t need ONE democrat vote if McConnell would get off the 60 vote threshold attitude. How many more times do we have to see legislation go down because McConnell won’t change his attitude on this? That was never intended to be the norm in the beginning, the democrats are the very ones that passed that ridiculous rule. So I ask you all, WHO REALLY IS AT FAULT HERE?

While there ARE illegal aliens that ARE parasites, DACA is NOT them? Do YOU know anyone ON DACA? I do-they are hard working, file taxes, pay fees to stay here, and cannot accept public assistance. Most importantly, they ARE integrated into our society – the Democrats have betrayed DACA by encouraging them to come forth and be documented and at the very moment they can be integrated LEGALLY into our system, have turned their backs on them. They think people will fall for their “bait and switch” but I am telling every Democrat I know that THEY are to blame.

Democrats are pretending to be for the DACA’s so they will win votes. If the democrats are for the DACA’s why did they reject a proposal by Trump to fix the problem. Obama passed the DACA bill through executive order not through consent of the people. Some DACA’s are getting smarter and speaking out themselves about the Democratic lies so they can just get votes. Eventually all the DACA’s will wise up to the democrats ad not vote for dems; then we will see how quick the dems approve the wall and kick the DACA;s and illegals out.

The illegal immigration political football has been kicked down the road by numerous presidents before Republican Donald Trump because of Democrat obstruction. Their various recent proposals smell like a Democratic Party vote getting scheme!

Republican President George W Bush had a perfectly good plan blocked by Democrats! Democratic President Obama made the problem worse by adding DACA (probably unconstitutional) by executive order.

After 16 years (or more), still no resolution by Congress and US opinions do change! Build the wall; no amnesty for DACA; send illegal immigrants home unless they have been here for 30 years or more, have jobs/businesses and immediate families here; or are in the US Military.

Exceptions are vetted immigrants fleeing persecution (no terrorists or imported bias’s), all others must come through the front door!

The majority of Democrats seem to be of socialist persuasion; they even have at least one “Marxist Communist” among them, so it would seem that a more appropriate name for the “Democrat Party” would be “Socialist/Communist Party”!
Regarding the topic of “Gun Control”, look at what happened in Australia when they literally eliminated guns from the civilian population; it’s not pretty; also, when guns are no longer available for purchase by the public (our Constitutional Right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed), all weapons sales will go on the Black Market where everything from fully automatic guns to car bombs will be available. Arming our school administrators and teachers or even hiring retired police/military personnel would be a good solution, of course changing the signage on the front door appropriately.
Regarding immigration, we’ve changed our minds and say DACA people are here illegally (they violated our National sovereignty and need to return to where they came from; then apply to return legally and work toward Citizenship!).

I simply can not believe the democrats have cut the throats of the daca population after using them as the excuse for so much of the decisions they have been making.heart has to be a great part of this decision and I do believe President Trump has given a lot of his hearts thought into his decision dealing with the daca decisions.i am very conservative when it comes to my country but if we all look back in our families heritage we will find that immigration history there because we all got here from some where else thru legal or illegal means. Schumer and Pelosi and the Democratic party have chosen to throw the daca population not only under the bus but they have pulled the bus forward and backed the bus up two or three times intentionally. How cruel can the Democratic party be? This is not meant for Joe manchen Democrat from West Virginia he used his heart in his decision.jgb
